just looked on www.pspupdates.com and the latest news is that winning eleven 9 (pro evo 5) is going to be released in japan in september. I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!

Gaz.

Yup, just seen the Title Screen. I really hope it doesn't force me to upgrade my firmware, because I need Pro Evo badly.

Also, Smackdown is coming to PSP. Get in.

GET INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RESULT!!!!

I expected it around this time, but was getting concerned about the lack of news.

If it does require an update, lets HOPE TO GOD that the 'No Update' from UMD PSP Program works.

Also, although I will obviously be buying this, let's hope a loader or something gets released so we can run it from MS.

If this happens, judging my Konami's past PES/WE games on PS2, XBOX and PC all ahving the same structure, the game should be cracked open for patches and mods so we can update the kits, music, banners, adboards, English language etc etc.

If not....there will always be the editor...let's hope it's as good as in PES4/WE8.

What do you reckon?

Lik-Sang or YesAsia?

Pity it's not available from Play-Asia as they've always been the best.

Here's the big secret I couldnt talk about. YOu can link up the PSP PES5 to the PS2 PES5 and exchange data a'la Madden NFL 06. Now they dont say it in the press release, but it could be possible to play a league on the PS2 and the continue that on the PSP..MAYBE.

I think 95% of us who read these forums realize that PES will completely take over our lives now with the PSP version allowing us to play on the go.

Konami of Europe press release

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 scores on PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable)
Play at home or away as Konami of Europe’s seminal
football series warms up for new Sony handheld

Konami of Europe has announced a version of its much anticipated Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will be released for the PSP™ this autumn.

Due for release on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC-DVD in Q4, the PSP™ version of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will feature the utter realism, intuitive play and fast-paced action of the ever-popular series. The handheld version will also be almost identical in terms of available clubs and international sides, with 57 national sides lining up alongside 136 club teams.

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 also benefits from a number of exclusive features designed to showcase the PSP™’s capabilities. The highly-competitive multi-player aspects of the game are highlighted using the hardware’s wireless systems. Using this, players within a certain network radius can challenge rival Pro Evolution Soccer 5 fans to games, with all data related to match results – goals for, goals against, wins, etc – retained in a running tally.

Solo players can also hone their skills within six different leagues and a host of cup tournaments, and the PSP™ game can also be linked to the PlayStation 2 version of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for data exchange. Using this, players can import teams they have created within the PlayStation 2 game for use against friends on their PSP™, or swap teams with other PSP™ users.

So very sweet. I'd give up Homebrew for this.

Best news I've heard yet on the PSP front

My office now has 5 ppl with PSPs - and all avid Pro evo players :)

Lunchtime multiplayer wi-fi games - here we come :)
(Let's hope it supports 8 player multiplayer, or more!)

BTW - Kop......whaddya think to the Crouch signing? Me bruv reckons he's a good long term prospect.
I reckon he's a lanky streak of piss.

I reckon it's a good signing in that we have no-one like him. Could be perfect with Cisse for knocking on high balls...and with Zenden on the left...goals from crosses could come a lot easier this season.

But then Rafa is a fan of the one man up front and one man in the hole game...but when you think about it, it would work with crouch as the front man to hold up the ball and release the inner flanks.

Overall, I think it's good, but 7m is a bit much for a Peter Crouch.

Anyway, new team photo is out:

that screenshots for the ps2 version of pes5 psp screenshots are out mid august. also i hope this has the master league on it would feel a bit cheated if its not.

i did also shit my pants when i saw that this game was being released.
It finally looks like sony have got off their arse's and started to take the psp more seriously.

i agree with you kop as ever, i think i might give up homebrew for this...... but knowing our luck if we did that a flawless psx emulator would come out.

and shit i'd love to play bishi bashi on the go.

It's a decision we may have to make, Sensible.

I'm hoping that 'NO UPDATE' from UMD program actually works, but then WE/PES is bound to be 2.0.

I'm hoping 2.0 will be cracked by then. Lots of people always say to me that 2.0 wont be cracked, since 1.51 and 1.52 has yet to be. But I'm of the thought that there really is no reason to try and crack 1.51 and 1.52, whereas lots of groups etc will turn their attention to 2.00.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I'm sure a large part of the hacking community will turn their attention to 2.0.

Live the dream.

...oh and PES was just announced for XBOX 360. :D

Not until 'fall' next year though. :(

i seiously think i would update my good friend :) been watching the movies and hell HELL!

and the update for the xbox will keep me happy till xbox 360 !
