Gamepark Named Newgp32 Xgp ?

LOL, could you see Gameparks weapons. They'd build a rocket launcher and then a year later, release the ammunition. Or build a super uber buff tank, and then 2 years later release some gas to put in it.

Or release a machine gun with special ammo, then silently change it so it jams on every third bullet without telling anyone.

GP made the last of the BLUs months ago, so the price is fixed. Plus the old parts they were using were costing more because of how hard they were to obtain.

atari jaguar, bar one game, who wants that steaming pile of horse poop emulated?? Bring on amiga, snes, iso game support, more mame, 32x even - oh 3d0 would be great with all those excellent EA games (if not a little too much for the system to handle)

But lets be patient, it took gamepark 3 or 4 years to get the gp32 onto the shelves so lets just sit back and hope that grim reaper doesnt get us before we get the new handheld!

(no offence grim)

Would be funny if they didn't support homebrew.

lol, that sounds like a Gamepark move. First system is open source, 2nd system is not open source and launches with 8 commercial games, all that suck, and no new games slated to be released for another 3 years. Yeah that would be cool.
Actually the GP32 wasn't intended to be an open source device, it was just a nice side effect of using SMC's. It needed signed code at the start until freelauncher was released. Of course there were ways of booting homebrew before freelauncher.

speaking of smart media cards, are you able to tell us what kind of media storage device the new system will use? It would be really cool if it had a USB port that lets us use a USB hard drive or something... then we could have an assload of space for just about anything.

The only problem with a USB hard drive is then it's not really that portable... it should at least be an option though, like to use USB memory sticks or a USB hard drive in addition to whatever they're deciding to use as their main memory device.

Did you guys ever think that the Gamepark guys might just be really wealthy even without the GP32? Maybe it's just a little pet company of these guys (you know, loved videogames, wanted to make their own console, and went from there), and they used their own funds from their real job/savings to finance it? I would assume they at least break even with the thing. And if they're just doing this for fun, they would be fine with that.

This company is hardly Nintendo or Sony--ED said they have three employees.

I wonder which of the two companies that third guy works with now...

THREE? That's it? Well, hats off to them then for making such a great machine with no more manpower than that!

I hope that this one will finally have the power to emulate the x86, for one. :)

And guys, stop pressing Craig too much for things that are obviously classified - he's under an NDA, remember? If he accidentally gives too much information away, bad things will happen... I've seen it happen before...

I hope you didn't let them get away with putting a tiny screen in it like the Gizmondo or DS either. Anything smaller than we have now BAH! The cheaper than GP32 has me concerned. Faster CPU, more RAM, the cost cutting came from somewhere and screens are one of the biggest costs. Don't let them go small, that would suck big time.

The reason I'm asking for information is because I don't know exactly how much he can tell us, and I want to know as much as possible about it... if he can't say something, then all he has to do is say "I can't tell you that," and that'll be the end of it. I'm not trying to pressure him into giving info or anything, I just want as much info as I can get, that's all.

That third guy must be BumHong Lee....

Hey, take a look at this translated block of text from a popup on GamePark Holdings' Korean website:

How are you the game park hall ting su is. With the game park the contract regarding the home page civil official whom it ties, a GP32 sale and a game sale and a GP32 irrigation became end in 2005 July 31st dates and. It is like that with it will be caused by and shopping will drive and the purchase against until 2005 July 22nd at only the minute when it orders the irrigation the GP32 sale to be possible, against until 2005 July 22nd only against the GP32 where becomes the arrival the irrigation is possible. Following shopping the irrigation portion against a sale and the GP32 which it will drive will become the decision after the weight and does not become the decision still not to be common knowledge it will lead and it will inform and and it will give. It is like that

Anyone possibly able to figure out what it means?

i bet they reuse the screen from the gp, gamepark likes using using the same components (nlu case at blu anyone?)
