what I want for christmas, the only emulator to make mame seem average...and still does, :D possible I think so oh yes!

Raine isn't what people think sometimes. It's not just magically faster than MAME - it's faster because it uses lotsa ASM and doesn't try to be accurate the way MAME does. It can't be easily ported to GP32 because someone would need to rewrite the x86 ASM portions to ARM9 ASM. And that's a huge task.

If you redid MAME with all sorts of ASM tweaks, emulation cheats and speed hacks etc. you'd have about the same thing. Not meant to be a criticism of Raine (I'm an old Raine fan, in fact I used to be mentioned in the readme greets from Richard Bush:), it was a great project and served its purpose as a fast, playable, fun arcade emulator very well.

RAINE and MAME are open source right? So if someone had done an ARM based pocket PC port, or an Acorn RISC PC port, all the ASM could be kept, I think i'll have to have a scout round the net.

Who said speed I was thinking about the interface yummy and the screen scrolling, just so much more polished for playability, and the choice of games, very few bad games in the whole bunch. It looks built for a handheld more than a x86 machine. Comparing Raine to Mame is like comparing a PDA to a GP32. :D
