Given the limitation of the GP32, what's the most recent game you think that Mame GP32 will be able to run with sound (at reasonable speed). Do you think full emulation of the Sega games is possible? (i.e Outrun, Hang-On, Thunder Blade, etc).

:)

I doubt it - MAME of the GP32 feels very similar to my old MAME machine which was running a 266Mhz pentium, and that couldn't cope with Outrun, etc.

Still, what we have got is awesome...

Absolutely :D. How about Bubble Bobble and R-Type? Those are my favourites.

Well the NES versions of Bubble Bobble are very good, plus theres lots of good hacked versions.

My favourite version of Bubble Bobble is on the Atari ST.

Totally agree about R-Type on PC Engine, brilliant that is

R-Type on the PCE is awesome and BB on SMS (I think) is also very good. Not sure about the NES (maybe I'm getting the two systems mundled up). Would love to see these supported in Mame GP32 though :). I would have thought if DrMD can run Outrun fast then Mame shouldn't have any problems (hardware wise).

:)

Its a totally different case. All because system x can run game x doesnt mean another system should be able to run it fine. Totally different systems, totally built different.

Its like when people moan about why isnt MAME working when the original processor was only 5 mhz etc but the Megadrive can work when its x amount more times powerful than a 25 year old 3 mhz Arcade machine.

For all of you who are trying to find fixes for MAME Roms i have found a solution to certain roms like MaxRPM and Sarge .It is 82s.123.12.d file that is in Crater Raider that will make the roms work. This applies to older MAME emulators from version 0.60 on back.
