Is it just a Fault in Windows XP or something??

I just been upgraded to 1mbit but when I connect to the net with WinXP it says Speed : 2.2mbps

Is this jsut a WinXP error??

Thanks

Nope BT have upgraded all of the lines to their maximum speed.

Im on Pipex

I only asked to goto 1mbit hehe... anyone know a good trusty ADSL Speed tester??

I tried some ADSL speed tests and it was downloading 500kb files in 2 seconds and 1mb files in 4 seconds.. sounds like 2mbit speeds :D

Karoo do this, it says we are on 2mbps but its only 768kbps. However they did let everyone have 2mbps for two days apparently... I didnt know at the time and did fuck all with it, sigh.

yea I think it might be a incorect value its displaying, but Hopefully they made a mistake and gave me 2mbit :D

I'm on 2Mbit :D, it really is cheap enough for everyone now.
Not in Hull, 768kbps is still 28 quid a month. How much is your 2mbps line?

BT I think finty is on...

Only thing is BT has Limits

Pipex has no limits and if they have made a mistake, Im getting 2mbit for £23 a month unlimited :D

Enforced means Enforced

Unenforced means Unenforced :p

So when he says Unenforced It means for now they are not doing anything about people who go over the limit :)

So when they enfoce it, it means they will start blocking people that go over the limit.. so they can only do things like send / receive Emails.

I've been d/ling around a gig and a half per day on NTL, so I guess they're not enforcing limits yet. DON'T go with NTL though as their customer service is SHIT. I was on the phone for nine hours in total (3hrs per call) just to get my pin number.

Karoo have unenforced limits - their line is the 1gig a day is just a guideline. However they wont do anything if you go over.

Which is nice.

i'm now pretty pissed off about this whole line upgrade thing.

i was looking forward to it until a letter came through the door saying we lived too far from the exchange to get a speed boost.

but hey, it's not all bad, they happily informed us in line with the increases being carried out by BT our package had been changed so that we are now capped at 30gb per month.

THANKS BT

wouldn't it have been nice if they'd have recognised the relative crapness of our situation and just said to hell with a cap?
