ffs.

i spent a solid hour. One solid hour of my life and where did it get me?

nowhere!

i hate those bastard worm like things they make me so angry.

i think im going to chill out by playing some more r-type.

ARRRRGHHHHHHHH bastard worms

Those worms are really a horde of shitheads. Don't shoot them and just try to avoid a collision

I admit to spending an unhealthy ammount of time on the Sega master system version of R-Type and I can confirm it is one the hardest games I have ever played. You need to become one with the game and memorise the patterns of the enemys. Above all try and keep your weaponry cos there are sections that are impossible without power ups!!

I finished it on my Amiga... don't know if it is easier or not.

But, hey, I also finished the Hard Version of Apidy (without Turbofire or cheating!) and the Maniac-Mode of Turrican III (no extra lifes, no continues, harder enemies)... again without cheating and without turbofire :)

gah all this talk of apidya and turrican 3 makes me need to dig my amiga 1200 out play them again. I remember the music on both being amazing as well

the r-type series has always been about memory. Memorise exactly how to shoot and where to move to avoid the incoming enemies...

It sucks your life away! Stay away from it!!

its more addictive than vanilla coke r-type is! But It Shall Be Defeated *evil laugh*

Yeah, I've wasted too many years (literally) playing R-Type. I've completed R-type1 on Arcade, SPectrum, Master System (best version, just for the hidden exclusive level found on stage 4) and amiga, completed R-Type 2 on several formats, but these two games area a breeze when you compare them to R-TYPE3!!!! That last boss is the hardest badass ever!!! I broke several SNES pads on that S.O.Bing game! It's like been in 'Nam, I still get flashbacks!
