hi,

yes, i know that most of the compatibility depends on the cyclone 68k core and that almost now changes were being made, but:

i heard that some games which didn't run in version 1.0 run now. flicky, pirates gold, primal rage....i heard about some.
and i'm sure, there are games, which used to run too slow to be playable (hm, i guess for most of you that is not an issue..we had this before...), but are playable fine now!

so, which games are now playable?

Uhhhhh, the vast majority of them?

It's just a matter of testing them yourself to see which one's work or not. So far, the only game i havn't got working is The Chaos Engine, which locks up when you start a game.

As for speed, v2.0 is definately faster. What before ran full speed at 166mhz now runs fullspeed at 144mhz. Sonic 2 at 166mhz is incredibly smooth, no slowdown at all. Only problem is the water effects seem to be screwed up.

i don't think so....

i tried some, but couldn't find out compatibility differences. that is why i ask other people here.

No change in flicky it's always worked for me, just the sega intro is only 1/2 there.
Sonic3&K works well enough, guess the same goes for the rest.

I'll edit some more in later

Uh, actually, that's true.

The majority of the games that still don't work are due to bugs in the cyclone core, and those are very hard to squash. I'm not sure what Reesy plans to do about them, but be happy with what we have, which is a heck of a lot. :D

Wonderboy 5 still no work in the towns :(

Please elaborate on this.

Wonderboy in Monster World is my alltime fav Wonderboy game. I had big plans to finish it again in DrMD, but if there are progress crippling bugs i'll have to hold off.

Fantastic Dizzy still don't work - the Codemasters logo jingle plays at the start but no video then the game goes no further.

And Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker - the sound works now but still comes to the 'this game will only work on PAL or SECAM systems' screen.

Comix Zone now works, although with weird graphical bugs. Something to do with animation, I think.

On the other hand, some games work WORSE in this release; for example, Mickey Mania actually runs slower than in v1.0, which makes it not nearly as fun. I'm not sure why, but there you have it.

Some games (and damn good ones too!) that are still not playable (probably all Cyclone related):

Shining Force 1 - resets GP at start of game
Shining Force 2 - resets GP at start of game
LandStalker - resets GP at start of game
Street Fighter 2 Championship - freezes at start of game
Samurai Shodown - won't accept input

I wonder if ZAMN still has the graphical issues as before?

Still, an amazing emulator and 2.0 is an amazing release. The speed is wonderful, even high action games are very playable at 144Mhz. IMO this is the overall best emulator on the GP32 in terms of emulation quality, complexity and game quality. How can you beat stuff like portable Phantasy Star 4, Beyond Oasis, Shinobi 3 and Gunstar heroes? You just can't!

ZAMN problems are due to some sort of windowing issue.

Elemental masters, and Frogger have this bug too. These games are still playable though. It is an awesome release as you said. Some stuff still is broke sure, but if you look at what DOES work, and how well it works you can't help but be amazed :)
