Bt Internet Upgrading Users To 2mb

You download a few bytes a second....how many seconds in a day? How about a months.
If you visit sites like these often, how many bytes would you download in avatars alone?

Really someone should sue the for false advertising "Unlimited Broadband usage" yet you have a limit.

if you already have no limit (I DONT W00T) they cannot enforce one on u coz thats illegal
You should read the contracts more carefully.

hmm, damn they prolly do have something in their claiming they can change the d/load limit freely

but if they do normally u just threten to use another provider and they stop

but they way i see it, even if they pt a 30Gb limit on

thats 1gig a day, which is d/loading at max for 1 1/2 (ish) on full, and for me that aint gonna happen

I was wondering if anyone was on uk online 8mb with a 50gb bandwidth limit. It seems like a very good deal at a very good price sadly i live in Broomhill in sheffield which doesn't have a supported exchange yet. But they are one of the first ppl to take advantage of the local loop unbinding.

Heh - I will soon be on BT buisiness broadband, as my work are going to pay for my broadband connection due to support from home etc.

And that's gonna be upgraded to 2Mb/s UNLIMITED!!!

WAHAY!

Im on 768Kbps at the moment with no caps (and karoo saying they will never cap). I could easily get through 15gig in 2 weeks. I used to download 1.5 gig on my good pc on 512Kbps (we where upgraded for free abit).

Ill be on 1.5mbit when I get work though :)

Yeah! Fucking fabulous!

They waited until our 12 month contract was up before installing a cap, but I went over it and nothing happened, so I don't know if they have actually implemented it yet.

2Mb baby!

Axeman: How much is that a month?

They're evil!!!! Everyone in derbyshire with BT broadband got shut off the internet yesterday!!!!

Cool, but I have BT 1mb connection, which comes with a 30gb transfer limit. I hope they don't drop it to 15gb if they upgrade me.
They should upgrade you to 4Mbit!

Well that's what Blueyonder did. My 512Kbps connection went to 768 then finally 1Mbit, while anyone on 2MBit is now sitting on 4MBits. Free upgrade. Good to see BT following suit.

I wonder how much you need to use before BT are losing money on you (and subsequently kick you off the service)

ntl were supposed to be upgrading early 2005 but no news so far.

re: caps

Mostly they are unenforced, unless you live in a particularly high use area.

where's all this hype about lowering bandwidth from? They will probably quadruple it, to match the speed.
