What's flashing your firmware and windups?

Flashing your GP32's firmware is basically a procedure to change the OPerating System of the unit to a different one. Windups is one of those replacements. So... instead of having the normal animated intro, then the Game.... MP3..... Link.... selectons, you get a sort of windows-type environment that can play mp3s, display text and a hgost of other things.

Flashing your firmware does hold some risk though, as if it goes wrong, you may not even be able to turn on your GP32....

Fresh batteries and reading the instructions for the flash is recommended....

Cheers

Also, bear in mind it should probably be the multi-fw you flash and not Wind-ups itself if you decide to give it a go. That way, you get 2 other firmwares just in case one of them won't load something. (Pacrom and the official one) as well as Wind-ups.

Ive yet to flash my firmware although I want to. I think I will just put up with a little more annoyances than risk my GP32. ;)

I would like the official OS if .fxe launching was inbuilt - but having to go through freelauncher, and things like lack of shortcuts or a simple file manager really annoy me, so I flashed - and haven't looked back.

i flashed because it took too long otherwise, it's also quicker to launch moviepark out of pacrom than out of the offical firmware for some bizarre reason
