but, uh i hadda give my gp back to gbax when the screen died, just before the BLU release.. and instead i got them to give me a Treamcast, which i still have.

so, i notice theres a new opensnes.. and problems with the BLU! crazy..

There's A LOT of new stuff.
You should check out SmashGP and DrMD (Genesis emulator).
Both still under development :)

Also, check out the many Fenix games out there (and don't miss NazcaDreams!!!)

You can get all this stuff at the GP32x File Archive (yep, that's also new... well, 2 months old yet, but new for you ;))

Well, you offered to do GP32:Zine's page layouts then said your hard drive failed and stopped coming online ever again or replying to my e-mails! Thanks for that, asshole!

Probably the biggest news is DrMD Genesis emu. Would you believe FULL SPEED with Z80 supported sound, and even DAC support for voices and it runs very well at only 144 MHz!?! Yes it is true thanks to the truly genius coder, Reesy and the super fast ASM core from fDave.

So he's the one that delayed GP32: Zine indefinately.

lol, yes its true.. however, as annoying as it was for you that i dropped off, it was much more annoying for me to eventually have to buy pretty much a new PC..
why was it delayed indefinately though, there were plenty of other ppl supposedly doing better work than me... ;)

on topic, seem weve been spoilt, a genesis emu at full speed with sound??! pshaw i say, cant be true...

with the advent of zodiac2, gizmondo, psp and ds, it seems theres a lot of competition, and the GP has the edge of a good few years now head start! cool!

i may have to give lik-sang some cash and watch all my GP optimised episodes of excel saga now!

Its a bloody good emu as it stands though!!

Well Giz, PSP, and DS don't directly support homebrew so there won't be anything as far as emus until/unless they are cracked. The Zodiac supports homebrew but needs approval for apps, and is really about the same as the GP32 as far as power (a bit faster but not a huge difference) for emus so it is not like a huge threat. Plus it has its own issues keeping it from being a slam dunk on the GP32. The main problem with the GP32 before was the dodgy washed out and dusty FLU screen, but now the true backlit one looks so much better.

For DAC support you need to make a donation to reesy, or else wait for the next public release.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The DAC version isn't out yet, it is in beta testing. But yes it does the DAC voices now and it is REALLY impressive as it doesn't effect speed of the emu. It also seems that Reesy has even squashed some Cyclone bugs too making some strange behaviour go away in games. I would have never believed it myself if I hadn't played it, IT ROX.

osnes still isn't full speed though
its full speed without sound

i got so excited when i saw the 0.3 update only to be almost let down
as there are little improvements over 0.2
the asm core is nice though
so snes is still good
just not great

Also, beats of rage (BOR) has developed into quite a nice addition, just try out the simpsons mod, its awesome, almost as good as the arcade, almost.

Other bor mods that I like are the Alien vs Preditor, and Megaman.

Also, the last 16 day competition has some good games, like a 3d tetris (elena), and the new smash brothers game.

DAC is the SEGA sound in the beginning, right? Or is it something else?..
