Hi, im new and hopefully this isnt such a stupid question for my first one.

Anyway - do you think the GP32 would handle Terminal Velocity by 3d Realms?

That would be a great game for it.

[EDIT: was some images but they dont like ppl robbing their bandwidth grr)

Has anyone here played it? i really liked it.

Personally, I don't see why not, though I could be being too optimistic.

However, since there is no source, and little prospect of source being released - and a good chance of it being in either Pascal or X86 assembler were it to be so, considering it ran on a 386 perfectly well - I doubt you'll ever see TV itself running on the GP32. Conceivably someone might make a clone of it - say, airquake with some more modifications, or some kind of voxel terrail engine or summut. But the original game will not ever (I would be willing to bet) be seen on the GP in all its splendour.

Sorry.

EDIT: Nb, when I say it ran on a 386, I mean in the smallest resolution and with extremely low textures. But it did run on a machine as slow as 16MHz perfectly playably, regardless of their claimed min sys specs.

I remember that, it was the first game I ran on my (then new) 486 and it blew me away (coming from the amiga).

I'd say the GP could handle it as it probably didn't use floating point, but the source isn't there so thats the end.

Terminal velocity? No problem, but the impact might damage the casing, not to mention the screen. Just my two cents.

(Why is there such an expression as "not to mention", as the thing is thus allways mentioned?)

Funnily enough, that's actually what I thought the question was asking.

Kinda like to say 'Would the GP32 still work if I dropped it off a very tall building?'

That's the reason why a quick reply to look "cool" with no thought put into it is normally an extremely dumb thing to do.

This was my first 3D experience, I got the demo on some games magazine when I was extremily young. Oh the memories...
