I got bored so i converted some anime to play it on the gp32. after i started to watch it, my front light suddenly flickered and became very weak. i thought it was my batteries and recharged it but that was not it! Tried a new pair of batteries and my gp32 came on. notice i never mentioned the problem getting solved. Now, here i am with a front light that is barely on and my $13 batteries dead... Could this get any worse?
:(

edit: nvm the batteries work (why it works now, i dont know) i just have a weak front light

edit2: well folks, its official. i no longer have and flu gp32 (that means my front light is gone forever) :(

FLUs are still visible without the front light on, aren't they? Or is it that the entire system has died on you?

Either way, that really sucks... But it is really good news for you that you'll be receiving a new BLU very soon. :)

Do we have any specifications on what type of light it is that lights up the FLU? Maybe a low power substitute can be found. Hate the thought of it going to waste, honestly.

I remember reading about a similar problem on these boards.

Someone suggested leaving it on for a long time with a fresh set of batteries (flu on) and If I remember correctly it just started working again.

My FLU have had this behaviour too... and it's true, i just turn it on
for about 15mins with the lights running, and then the front light is fine again!!!

... one time it didn't work :( i opened my FLU and found that one of the
wires on the light switch had fallen off... i just soldered it, and turned it
on for 15 mins as usual... voila, FLU resurrected :)

My flu does this sometimes too, I just leave it on for a while and sooner or later the light comes back. The display goes screwy too sometimes but I just do the same, leave it running for a bit.

I hope your problems are no more than this :)

Mine did it once when I first got it - at which point I sent it back to be repaired. Following that, though, it did it again at the start of a holiday in Crete; a few days later the frontlight was working again at full power. I think its just something FLUs do, but I'm sure you could ask Gamepark if - considering you're doing them a favour in translating a commercial game for them - they could repair it for you. You never know - they might say yes :)

ill try leaving on for a while... if it doesnt work... well, i guess its more motivation for me to translate faster

edit: it works now :) but still weak :(

probably a loose connection somewhere.. if u are good with a soldering iron, open it up :)
