New Firmware Project - Pacrom Required

You know, you can divide a 200GB PC harddrive to smaller logical drives... Wonder if something similar would be possible with >128 CF/other media.

Just a random thought.

That would change nothing about the 3 volt that gp32 can support. Partitioning a CF does not make it need less than 5 (?) volt.

It might be worth contacting Slubman if Pacman can't be found, simply because that is turning rapidly into a firmware to rival Pacrom, ne beats it already.

Good luck Gomwing :)

I'm just suspicious thats all.
If you don't have Pacman's email address or a pacrom source, why even bother posting? Jesus.
u just did the same thing <_<

I would not need to do it if people wouldn't behave disrespective. I _know_ that it's the real gomwing, he's trying to get ahold of pacman for some time now. You're 4 months on gp32x boards and yet you call a (*respected*) developer a liar. I mean, WHAT THE FUCK? How dare you? You don't know the circumstances and still, you bother other people with your opinion.
First think - then post. Please.

you just did it again :p

hhhhmmmm if you can program a coool peice of software like GPCinema / GPCinema 2.0 , why cant you make your own newer firmware thing??? :)

I think the most obvious answer would simply be that programming firmwares (i.e. launching .fxe .gxe, file management, icon retrieval, smc formatting and/or errorchecking and of course PC-Link) is very different from programming a movie player (ok, there's a file browser, but other than that, completely different formats involved, radically different types of loading etc.)

Let alone the simple possibility that he may be less interested in programming a firmware than in integrating GPC2.0 into one.

Hence why Slubman's might be a good one - it's got that plugin system :)

I think the coolest thing he could do for the community
is make a movie playing libary from Gpcinema so people
could make their games have movies. :)

Hello.

I am a korean programmer

I am the developer of Gp Cinema

I have a question

recently i have a quetion to other developers.

recently I am working for Firmware replacement

and replace the SMC to C/F and

and GpCinema ver 2.0 in the firmware.

i found the most effiecient shell is Pacrom

so i want to add the pacrom to many other function. movie pic etc..

but pacman have no more web site and i couldn't contact him

Can you give me some help to that problem

and anyone know the mail address of pacman?

and anyone have the src of PACROM>?

please contact me

gomwing@yahoo.com

the CF is run at dual voltage 3.3V or 5V

and the SMC lib op GP32 is completely GPIO programming - not hardware but software

and the IO line of GP32 SMC is 8+6 and the 14 line is meet

the CF 8bit IO - 8 bit data and 6 for control

I think my project some times ago, because I am interested in playing MOVIE

but the SMC is too small to hold many movies

so I 'll researched many references and finally find the answer

' the GPIO for SMC is usable for CF and it switch the control in the Firmware'

and SMC/CF is used (not simultaneously but solely)

I have the SRC of CF control interface and Gamepark have permitted me to experiment it .

and finished analysis of FXE GXB GXE loader and SMC interface CF interface.

but it is too expensive to build a new firmware from the ground.

so I want to find the Pacrom source code

because it is not too heavy but light .

So many useful things are added to it.

sooner or later , i will release my work to public.

please anyone have any Idea . reply me

Yup, but that would go around the bios restriction of 128MB. There are some converters to allow XD-memory cards to work in smc slot, these work, but only for 128MB XD-cards, and there are atleast 512MB cards.

I'm wishing good luck for gomwing, for I'm dying to use my 1GB CF on GP32.

Now you better hold that talk :D
..or Vimacs and his disciples will come and flame you !!

Hoh, I'm not holding my breath, but in my view, nothing is impossible until proven so, and sometimes not even then. :D

But it is sorta silly to flame about something like that, because "it was discussed in 2003". I wasn't here then! I'm not saying I have a lot to contribute, but I'm betting some new GP owners are handy with solders and whatnots, and could jury-rig a working solution to, well, any "problem". And thus, even old topics might be worth mentioning again. :) There is no limit to human ingenuity, except other humans.

gomwing > Why do you want Pacrom src whereas Slubman's firmware is better (very convenient file browser, plugin option) and its sources are available?

You can have them if you ask Slubman, he'll give you them without any problem I think gomwing. :)

Would the GP32 be able to run movies with better video and sound quality in GP Cinema 2.0?

What are the new features of GP Cinema 2.0? :)

Keep up the good work, don't give up gomwing. :)

P.S. : Will your work be free? :)
