ok ok ok ok, after taking ages to set the goddam thing up.

:)

i got there in the end, i got snes9x and installed sensible soccer. and its unplayable.
is there something i can do to increase the speed at all? or is that it? am i doomed.

btw what operating systems do u guys use?

i use winxp

its not a letdown, but its also not enjoyable to play yet. give it time and it will be a great great emu for gp32.

try sensi on the master system emulator.

also, the other snesemu is better in terms of speed - but no sound.

ah yes the master system version.

i also meant what O/s on the GP32. :p

thanks for the advice you guys.
how long do u think it'll be before we see perfect emulation for the snes? just outof interest.

yes it sucks, yes i use windups and we will never ever everr have snes full speed
except we will within a year

sensible soccer runs fine on snesemu give it a shot. As for when we will see full speed snes emulation on the gp32 I would say that its debateable if we ever will. Snesemu runs pretty damn fast as it is however I am scepical if we will ever see and emulator run that fast with full sound and save support. I once had a 133mhz pentium with 16 megs of ram and snes emulation was still fairly choppy then. The gp32 on the other had is acctually less powerful than that computer was so it would be a strech to get it going full speed with sound. It will take a very skilled programer that is really really good at draining every bit of the gp32's power to get it perfect. So be thankful that you have what you do and if there are better snes emulators that come up later on I would just concider them a nice supprize.

Hmmm...

I used to play SNES games on my 486 DX/33 at full speed with ZSNES for DOS. Huge frameskipping, no sound, but the speed was just fine.

I played snes on my old 486 dx2 66 and that was full speed with sound.

The snes can be emulated at 100% or atleast full speed with sound as the coding is for a specific platform so the code will get optimized for faster cpu cycles etc.

Just wait iv only just came back into the gp32 scean after seeing it like half a year ago and the emulaotrs have improved ALOT so just have to wait :)

you must have been running zsnes, and that is the best emu for anything i have ever seen in my life, it has everything, speed quality and features.

Yes it was zsnes and its a great program but u get the idea that if it has been made for that cpu and optimized it is possible for the snes to run at full speed

Only problem is we are missing 2 buttons needed for the snes :(

but we could use the start and select button as the other 2 then use a combo as start anbd select but only problem is that u would ahve to move your finger off the d-pad so its still no use :(

Most games that i play use all the buttons :(

Only other thing i can think of is use the serial port to add 2more buttons to the unit

would it be possible to mod a snes joystick to make it work with the EXT port? ;)

I dont see how u can get the buttons missing using dual pressing

Say your playing street fighter you would normally press more if not all the dual buttons but other games would be working in a diff way so using dual buttons wont work (to my understanding that is)

And it would be possible to get a full snes pad working on the ext port and easily enough to get just 2 extra buttons that u could stick next to the other buttons for it to be snes compatiable :)

i think thats an awesome idea...but use the ext port for controller 2 just like nomad had...that would be sweet, play 2 players on one gp32!

i would mod my gravis gamepad pro just for that.
