hey
when i rip dvd's they always come out not only in 2 parts but at about half thier normal playing speed
why why why
i use dvd dycrypter to rip them and the directly encode the vobs with virtualdubmod which works bar the above mentioned problems goddammit

dunno what is wrong there,, use i use dvd decrypter to get vobs then dvd2avi to convert vobs to avi with wav and then virtual dub to create a gp compatible avi,, this maybe a long way around but it has worked everytime for me

dvddcrypter, in option IFO mode file splitting is set to 1gb limit as default.

and you half speed issue, will be a virtualdub setting id presume, although i cant see why it would have set this as default.

better use DVDx (available at: http://www.labdv.com/dvdx/) Its freeware, and i use it to convert my DVD´s to MPEG (1 or 2, but you can also convert to AVI) and i then convert the movies with VD (or in the case of MPEG2 with VDMOD) to a proper avi. In my Opinion, DVDx is easier to use than DVD2AVI, and it´s also faster (for me). When i wanted to convert an anime DVD to AVI it would have taken 8 hours with DVD2AVI, but only 4 Hours with DVDx.

EDIT: i just noticed you have to register to download, and I think it costs money to register. However, it is freeware, and I´m currently trying to find another mirror

FOUND: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DVDx.htm
