According to my calculation, 2 hour of music can easily fit on a 128mb card. So why is everyone whinning about it :D

How good is the playback and are the speakers powerfull enough for me to listen to music if i put my gp32 on my desk next to me?

From what I heard on my friend's GP32 it has okay sound. But if you run it off an adaptor instead of batteries, you can hook up speakers through the stereo phones jack in the GP32. :)

Speaking of which, has anybody had any success running the GP32 off a power adaptor?
I tried one on mine and it creates weird interference lines, even though it is exactly the spec listed in the manual, 3V DC, 300mA. . . . . .

it's a bit of a bugger to have to keep recharging batteries, or buying new ones.

Playback is fine - its just that im unable to playback MP3s recorded at 16Khz - for some reason they play really fast (sounds like mickey mouse!).

As for a power adaptor .... I wonder if Craig will stock these at his shop?

I too want to playback mp3's at a bitrate lower than 128k, I have the Lord of the Rings audio books and would prefer to have 10 or so hours worth on an SMC at 16k than 1hour at 128k.

Besides they are already compressed to 16k and I am having to up that to 128k which is pointless and crap. I understand 128k stereo is great for music but it is too excessive for a mono spoken track.

uhm, i got it running iwth an adaptor.
same thing here: the display is not perfect, but the gp32 is usable.
display problems are not that great.
i don't understand anything about this aspect of elechtronic devices... does someone in here?

I often run mine from an adaptor, one where you can change the voltage and the size of the out, and haven't noticed anything different to running the GP from batteries! Maybe I'm blind or something, either that or it's because I usually do that at night, but it seems perfect!
I need to use an adaptor since I got reaaally far on Bomberman '94 before the batteries got drained on me!

I run mine from a 3v, 1000mA adapter, and it's fine. Those of you having problems should consider finding an adapter that is filtered and regulated (they are sometimes called different things)

Filtered means that "noise" in the line is filtered out.
Regulated means that the power going to the GP32 is kept at a constant level (the electricity from the wall jack fluctuates, so a regulated adapter helps to counter this effect).

My adapter is either filtered or regulated (can't remember which, I'll look later) and the screen looks exactly like it does on batteries.

I think the /ma makes a big difference the bigger the better i suggest you get an adapter that is suitable for the likes of a digital camera and it should be fine
