Has anyone found a working version of Alter Ego (either male version or female version) or does anyone know how to get it working?

It loads fine, but after the intro it tells me to insert Disk 1 Side Up (which is the disk actually inserted).
I tried changing the 1541 Emu setting (doesn't run if it's turned on) and tried frodo and pcfrodo

I really LOVE this game :)

While you're at it, could you check "skate or die"

Can't get past the EA logo screen. 1541 problems is my best guess.

hey guys im not a dev, im going to socur the internet looking for different tape/disk images.

will also test them out on the PC version of frodo to see if its to do with mikes port

nope cant find a version of alter ego that works :(

Hmm. You have the same problems as me.
Too bad, pretty good game, actually.

in ccs64 you can use an action replay cartridge image to freeze the game and save it as a PRG to a virtual disk then copy the D64 over to the gp32 and try it, usually works for me - I think I wrote a brief tutorial how to do it ages ago but I'm restricted to cybercafes otherwise would try it for you

Hmm... you're right, that's an interesting idea :)
I'm gonna try it out for most games that won't start :)

I don't think it'll work with Alter Ego though as it has 3 doublesided disks and I guess it won't recognize any diskchange (I don't think they change the loading routines during the game ;))

But it's a VERY good idea for all other games :)

Thanks!

I tried loads of things to get mayhem and creatures working but nothing worked :( some that do work using the action replay trick are summer camp, turrican and nobby the aardvark... it's worth trying a couple of times and freezing in different places - like, not on the title screen but as the game starts.

Mayhem loads the title screen on my gp32 but it does not respond to any button presses

ED- have you tried inserting the correct disk and enabling 1541 cpu emulation once you have loaded the game? sorry if this is obvious....

Yep. If I turn on the CPU emulation, it won't work either.
And I can insert any disk I want - no disk works.
(and the boot up disk is the right disk, works fine in ccs64...)
