I have a number of books in text format (just plain ascii) and i have tryed the kreader in wind-ups and the gpfilemaneger but what i need is a text reader that lets you change font size or justifying so the text fits the screen properly.kreader is good with the bookmarks but theres no options for wordwrap.I got my gp32 for the emulation but the thought of carrying around a large amount of books in easy to read text format is great.anyone working on anything like this???

Thanx to everyone working on gp32 dev-us non programmers would be lost without you.All your hard work is appreciated :D

This sounds like a very easy project for a first time application for someone?

I'm suprised such a thing does not exist already.

What is wordwrap? Like Craigix said this would be probably be easy to make for a newbie and , hey, i'm a newbie.

wordwrap is an option to make text wrap without carrage returns-open a document with notepad and try turning wordwrap on and off-you will see what i mean.

pdf support would be groovy

all the alignment goes out of whack when i just copy the text into a text file

I just downloaded it from this site, but it wont install???

UBook is pretty good. I don't remember if it has bookmarks or not, but you can shrink the text down really small and it's still readable (thanks to the fact that Don made it display the text ala MS Cleartype).

PDF support would be very cool, of course. So many cool things for GP32 that probably won't happen simply because there either aren't enough programmers to do them, or none of the actual programmers are interested in doing it.....

Wish I was good enough, but... :/

i'm sure i read on some site or other that the gp32 has to put all its processing power on the mp3 player if you use it

*interested expression* There is?
Although I would be happy with something to read E-books with, I've had a bit of a browse around and can't find a reference to a reader.
What is U-book, what formats can it read and where do I get a copy?

I think the GP uses most of it's power before being clocked. If you clock it, you could read text without any problems. You could probably play MP3 and read text without clocking it. Even a ZX81 can read text. A proper text reader, zoomable, antialiased etc, might be a bit more of a chalenge.
Now a Psion Epoch or Palm emulator would be cool ;) PDF, web clippers, Opera, etc.
