220 Mhz Out Of The Box....

mine's only 80% stable at 140
Do the OC mod :)

Hmm. My GP32 only overclocked to 22Mhz for 5 mins then froze! Oh well, at least I can go over 200!

it is maybe a battery problem....try an adapter to see if you can stay @220 for more than 5minuts

I cant stay at that high for more than 6minuts with fully charged 2300NiMH but no prob with my GBA (modified: polarity must be inverted)

see you

Yeah its probably a battery problem since the batteries in my GP32 are 2 different brands of ni-cd from a few years back lol. My mom just bought a charger and 4 Nihm 2100 Mah batteries so I think I will change them now :)

You'll never guess what, yours might of came out of the box 220, but mine came out of the box 420, and it can play every single SNES game at perfect speed with sound, and inside there is a card reader that reads 1gb cards, and plays movies at 800x600 resolution. I got Tomb Raider running on my GP32 recently since the RAM out of the box was 1gb, it was totally amazing.
1st, I remeber seeing the max speed for this CPU is 260mhz
2nd, I dont think theres a 1gb 3.3volt SMC Available :p
3rd, your batteries wouldnt last long
4th, I dont think Open Snes supports 420mhz
5th, The Firmware doesnt support 1GB of Ram
6th, the firmware doesnt support 1GB SMC Cards (Thats if the even exist :p)

LOL
Anyway why is it this happens? Why are some different to others it's strange.
I think its to do with the resistors they put in at the factory.. maybe they were Cheap resistors that had dodgy ratings :p :D

I just felt the 'need' to say this. (to the guy that said "no need to rub it in" :p)

Imagine one that can reach 220mhz without any modification....AND on top of that, it's a FREE FLU unit ;) (which came with 128mb smc, writer, carry bag, and other goodies I shall not say)

There should be something for the regular units....the 200MHz Osnes9x is just great....

it has nothing to do with either of those things, its purely luck. gamepark need it to work at 133MHz, the cpu is designed to be clocked up to 166MHz (roughly) Any extra is a bonus and beyond the circuit design.

The voltage mod increases vcore to its specified maximum (or beyond if you choose) as this can help with stability.

Every GP i tested so far has been between 1.78V and 1.85V out of the box.

cheers,

malty

I heard that the Max Speed for this CPU was 260Mhz

This is so weird, I thought you were talking about the opensnes overclocking. I have NO idea what my clock speed is on my Gamepark 32 is! Someone tell me how to check please??? When I find it out it probably will be the largest of all your GP32, since I had mine ordered specially.

あたしのGP32は420mhzだよ。
見ていて・・・
420mhz!!!
今にアタシがGP32のSNESのゲームをあそぶ。アハハハハハハハ。

P.S: うん、またね。
