I thought he was asking exactly what I was wondering:

I bought my 166 BLU days before GBAX altered the prices and started offering the 180. I felt a bit ripped off to be honest and emailed them to ask about swapping for 180 as 180 now costs £3 more then the 166 did.

I haven't received a reply...

...I'll let you know if I do - meanwhile I can't flash the firmware yet in case they don't accept it back!

Yeah same here :(. I didn't email them though. I doubt they'll feel like swapping for the upgraded ones though.

I just emailed them. Ask, it can't hert. I emailed them about having the mod done though but just tested and my gp32 goes to 184mhz without the mod anyway

Mine goes to 184 in Mirko's tester but 172 in OpenSNES9xGp. I suspect the same type of behavior in fGEN32.

Everyone who`s ever bought anything has had to go through the same thing. Thats the price of progress.

Without sounding rude, Gbax is a business, Their in it to make money (obviously), So i doubt you will hear anything positive if you do get a reply from them. It a chance you take (a gamble), Like, Should i get a forth generation console now, Or save my money and wait for a fifth generation console to come out, As its going to be faster, Better, Cheaper etc. But if we all did this, We would end up never buying anything. ;)

Just put it down to bad timing, Wait a little while and see whats around the corner. You never know, You could end up being able to buy a GP32 266mhz with 64mb ram and a compact flash slot as standard, For the price you paid for your 166 Blu. ;) Now thats PROGRESS. If only.

I agree Trooper, it's just that I really do think it was a bit dishonest. I emailed them beforehand to ask about the BLU etc before I bought and their plans for the 180 would have been in progress by then. I just think they could have told me to wait and I would have done.

I don't mind if they were to simply mod my existing machine for me by return of post or something as a goodwill gesture as I have recommended them all over the place and didn't expect to ever feel let down by their service.

After all, who knows what I may buy there in the future if I have faith in them, they could lose my custom otherwise and I think there are a certain amount of people on here who also feel a bit let down. Everyone was encouraged to support them and get on the BLU bandwagon early, it feels a bit like those special edition DVDs which come out 6 months after the standard movie and devalue something you were pleased with, it's just to cash in.

you cant expect craig to give you a 180mhz model you have used it and things always work that way i bought a 4x dvd burner a week later 8x was same price and he did that to compete with lik sang as well i suppose

I think I'd be willing to pay a little extra to get mine 180mhz modded or something. I'm in the same situation, and I do feel a bit jipped. The only reason I bought my BLU from GBAx.com was because of the 166mhz mod, otherwise, I probably would have bought a FLU for a much lower price some where else and took my chances. I have reccommended GBAx.com all over the place though, as they had great service. I even talked to Craig on mIRC to ensure that my order had gone through.
