New Gpadvance Version - V1.48

v1.41 is out!!

"support des rom supérieures à 4 mo"

dynamic loading already?

edit: tried some 64mbit roms, and found one partially working one! :) check 0087 - kiwame mahjong deluxe ! loads the whole time, but you can see some cut pics, couldnt get into menu so far but ill keep trying ;)

1.41 is released and it supports roms larger than 4MB! I've tested it with a few games, though so far only the intro to Zelda has worked. But roms large than 4MB seems to work fine without any slowdowns except during some screen changes, very impressive :) I hope yoyo takes a look at this code for osnes9x

also, breath of fire (usa version) now fully works even ingame and battles and stuff ;) :)
only on saving crashes, but that was clear, sram isnt implemented yet !

Hell Yeah!

*firing up mIRC to get it*

EDIT: i know a way to test the dynamicaly loading feature:
google for "GBA JPEG viewer" It works flawlessly on previous version of GPadv ( i guess it does on thuis, too) and make a file bigger than 4Mb

Great work on 1.41, keep it up :)

Just tried "Lufia_The_Ruins_of_Lore (U)" and it boots. After booting, during the intro, dynamic loading screws up. The data GPA needs is in 5 different sections -> GPA keeps looping the loading of the needed sections.

update:
Skipped the intro -> stops after pressing start in main menu (data abort in rom) -> press A to skip instruction (>30 times) -> Someting menu-like shows up but it doesn't work (load looping)

Gonna try some more >4MB roms...

OMG this is incredible! Sega Smash pack loads! Awesome, awesome work team! I am throughly impressed. By the way, people are mentioning this Dynamic loading for OpenSNES9xGP. How many SNES roms are over 4 mb anyways?

I think just Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean. It'll probably be a long time before we see either one working at playable speeds, even if they got it to load (especially since Star Ocean requires a hack for the Dejap translation to load). But it'll be pretty cool :)

how did you get zelda working...??? it loads but just white after this
It is not the intro to the actual game, but the intro of the release group. At least it shows it loads >4MB roms.

The problem is not that, Yoyo has a problem with fitting the transparency code and loading 4MB roms at the same time.

On the other hand, conceivably if the code works well enough it would be possible to have transparency code and dynamic loading codea, and just use dynamic loading on anything greater than 3mb - thus eliminating the problem in the first place...

How long does it take to dynamically load a 64mbit game?
It doesn't load the entire game at the same time, just the part it needs. Starting a 64Mbit game with dynamic loading is actually faster than starting a 32Mbit game without dynamic loading was before. Since without it loads the entire game into memory. The entire starting process takes around three seconds.

Good news! With the IRQ added Wario Wares Inc now works! Although it has some major graphical glitches and the loading time is annoying it appears to be playable otherwise! Fortress is also playable now (returned black screen before). Breath of Fire didn't work for me before (only the intro worked) but now it works fine. So I am sure a bunch of other games work as well.

Megaman & Bass and Tomato Adventure don't work for me (they both freeze up after loading).
