Broadband Sharing

buy a cheap old pc for under 30eur (130mhz p1 is enugh) and install a linux router on it
too complicated for me I am afraid

also, i dont really fancy having a big hunk o crap on my landing

I am OK with hardware side of PCs, but I am crap with the software, so things like linux are beyond me

If its only 2 PC's couldnt he use internet connection shareing?

So basically 1 computer is dependent on the other to be on for it to have an internet connection. Im guessing your computer would be on most, so all you would need is a NIC in both computers.

This is just my stupid no brainer, computer n00b idea though.

Looks like im gonna have to go with a router

switch box isn't too good, coz atm i am just switching USB cables around, which is not annoying, but it does mean i cant use both @ once

finty: I cant really do that, coz my dad is an electricity freak, so if I had 1 computer on and I wasn't using it he wouldn't be very happy

Anyone know where I can get a bog standard, big as ya like, wired ADSL router (or possibly wireless if the aint too expensive)

Thanks
:D

The internet may make you stupid, but spray was retarded to begin with.
*snigger*

Hehe - you're right :p

I'm a foolish person (wouldn't believe I was a network engineer :p)

Suppose I was looking at the machines independantly rather than introducing sharing, so it wans't that bad a feck-up :p
