Gigadrive 0.023

is this the same core thats used in the new fgen? if so you'll notice that SONIC 3D WORKS...........its pretty damn impressive to see this working on the gp32 even though the game still makes me feel sick

A major thing you should look at due to it being such a good game
Pirates Gold- Loads up however resets as soon as you press a button.

Also what is up with Afterburner and it shooting non stop all of the time?

Sega Soccer, Shinobi and California games (which works on the other gp32 mega drive emulator) on the mega games 10 in 1 do not work yet.

Shining Force doesn't load at all (pointless due to no saves being in anyway)

The sound on Afterburner was pretty amazing and shocking for the minute I had it on before turning down the volume (nothing against your work Dave, mega drive games rarely had any form of decent music)

I haven't got my BLU yet, but am eager to try out gigadrive!! Seeing as though the only handheld gaming i've known is a gameboy color and GBA emulators, I think i'm in for a treat with the GP32! Anyway, how does Castlevania bloodlines and its music work on gigadrive? I know the soundtrack is an integral part of any castlevania game.

hey! i liked the mega drive music in a lot of the games. even afterburner.

btw, in afterburner it is supposed to be constantly firing, there's an option to turn it off though.

Guys, I'm getting wildly mixed messages here - first you all desperately want the sound in, then you want the sound removed!
Ahhh, wait, it's not THAT confusing.

Firstly: I guess, not ALL the people desperately wanted sound... I guess half of them want (for the lack of some speed), the other half wants full speed (but no sound).
Don't forget that ONLY the people who wanted sound demanded it here - if you don't want sound, you don't have a reason to demand it ;) That's why it sounded that ALL desperately wanted sound.

Secondly: Nobody wanted you to REMOVE the sound. Just an option to disable it and therefore get more speed, so that both groups are lucky :)

Everyone here is appreciating your work, fDave.
I personally find it very good that you release a LOT of alpha / beta versions of your emulator... but you can be SURE that there are a LOT of guys complaining if anything doesn't work correctly - even if it's an alpha.
You just have to ignore this - or give out private betas (like Rlyeh) to a few selected people who actually help you testing the emulator. And when it runs fine, you can release it :)

These are the two options... but releasing it to the masses and hoping that nobody will complain and demand is impossible ;)
well said. fdave, I really do appreciate the work youve done. But I especially love the fact that you frequent on these boards and chat with the members here, to let them know what your up to, and frankly, that you still love the GP32 and the community. Your a great man, a great coder, and a welcome memeber and friend of these boards. Keep up the great work, fdave!

Some more games reports (sorry if I've duplicated other peoples):

Hard Driving: Working, although it seemed to have some sort of gravity problem. I've never played any Genesis games on genuine hardware so maybe it isn't wrong, but the car seemed to shoot into the air when going over the slightest bump.

Race Driving: Working

Rampart: Missing sprites (please fix this soon!)

Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits: Nothing - wouldn't start

Virtual Racing: Sega logo and flashing bands accross the screen

Lemmings: Working fine.

Outrunners: Flickering track

Keep up the good work fDave!

blahblah

Virtua Racing won't work until someone emulates whatever special chip it uses, which is unlikely since there is very little documentation on it.

EDIT: Also, the emulator seems to emulate a 6 button controller, but only 3 buttons are mapped, making Mortal Kombat 1, 3 and Ultimate unplayable.
