Hi folks,

You asked for this, so here you go, it's some very prelim sound beeps, it sounds HORRIBLE! But, possibly better than silence... well maybe

http://www.finalburn.com/

Okay okay, it's not totally hideous - it sounds like a SMS. Without envelopes - that's a fairly accurate descirption I guess! (both this code and the SMS use square waves you see).

So if you ever wanted to know what square waves sound like, this is it :)

The real YM2612 uses Frequency Modulation though... that bit is todo next :)

SWEET!
I will download it as soon as i get back to my friend house
thanks fdave

Everyone, just post here and let me know if it works okay for you... well, in the sense that it doesn't crash or anything!

Thing is it's been crashing all day, but I think that was actually simply because my batteries were rubbish. Have got some brand new Duracell ones in now with the little yellow bar to check they aren't drained and I think it's running okay now.

the sound is not soo bad...:)

see you :lol:

EDIT Ive tried sonic 1 & 3 without prob
but I think it is running slower than before with sonic3...
cant really feel a differance in sonic1

Are you trying to get savestates or sram or are you going to be still working on the sound now
some sound is enough for me
right before i clicked on this i was grumbling to myself that there was no major new with gamepark lately
this has changed my mind

thanks! :)

ok, i first, as i always do, when a new version comes out, tested slimeworld and it has sound, but no graphics. weird, i always thought, it couldn't be emulated, but i can hear myself shoot, so the game runs, but there's nothing on the screen.

anyway, thanks for the update...

too less space to unzip all my genesis roms ;)
it would be wonderful if u include zip support (zlib) and/or savestates soon, this way i keep playing with fgen32 :p
but great work tho, its much faster than fgen32 without sound, rock on!

Great! :D
Could you make a version colcked to 166mhz? :huh:
Damn I lost the e-mail with the settings in..

I know these two, anyone got 166 offhand?

// GpClockSpeedChange(132000000, 0x24001, 2); // speed = 133 Mhz
GpClockSpeedChange(156000000, 0x2c001, 2);

I'll have to go through and search for my e-mail from Ryleh....

a simple clock selector would be great

have to admit that table is just double-dutch to me :)

Anyway I stuck this in:
// GpClockSpeedChange(132000000,0x24001,2); timer=15;
// GpClockSpeedChange(156000000,0x2c001,2); timer=13;
GpClockSpeedChange(165000000,0x2f001,2); timer=12;

Does anyone else have the problem of the Timers going too fast when you overclock?

Let me know if 165mhz works because obviously I can't check here :)

Also, does anyone know what the third parameter should be? Is it 2 or 3 - what's the difference? 3 just seems to make the timers run too fast again

Yeah it's slower because i added sound, just use the older version if you are playing a game without sound

I'm trying to decompress the FXE and hex-hack the clockspeed, but I figure Dave's got this one covered.
