 well, i have some extra cash... about 50 bucks, and feel the need to own another system...but which one...

1 ps2
1 gamecube
a jvx x'eye (genesis with cd built in...and KAROKE!!!YEAH)
a gba (in pieces right now...)
a sega nomad
a genesis ver 2
a game gear
wonderwan color final fantasy 2 limited edition boxset version
neo geo pocket color
gp32 (DUH!)
dreamcast
nes
fairchild channel f system
n64
pc (shittty...)
a mame machine (W.I.P. ...kindof working...)
pong
a nintendo virtual boy with a couple jap games

this is what i have now...(yikes...)

what are some retroish systems with good games?

preferably 16bit or under...maybe a 3do?

tricky
Here are some ideas:

GameAXE or TopMan kick ass

A neo geo CD shouldnt set u back too much (I advise it a lot)

My C64 if ya want it, tape decks broken coz when i woz little i sat on it

XBOX is good for playing retro games

A PC upgrade

A PCEngine/Turbografx 16

What about an MSX (not the mastersystem, its 8-bit and proper bo)

Dont get 3DO its evil

Philips CDi quite good in my opinion (prepared for backlash from unhappy nintendo gamers)

Jaguar is good for a few games

All i can think of off the top of ma hed

He also doesn't have an SNES

Thats my pick. There are plenty of good games for that...
What the FARK?!!! You don't have an atari?!!!!!

well, i have 60+ atari games, but my atari broke...

i also had an snes, but the dc emulates it pretty well...and the gp32...

i might get a saturn, but what are some crazy awsome games for that?

P.S. i should have a 7800 coming SOME time... <_<

EDIT: i wish i still had the atari...i was a great deal and a fun story...see, i'm 14 now, and i've been "collecting" since i was 8ish... see, i had been looking for an atari for a while, cuz my parents had one and it sounded fun, i was at a garage sale with em and saw one...i about crapped myself cuz it had TONS of games with it...i walked up to the lady and asked her how much the atari was...she said "$5 (DOOOOOOOOD i thought to my self....), but for you honey, a dollar" i was sooooo excited...and it had 34 games with it, and i have been searching for all kinds of games for it ever since.... :D now wasn't that heartwarming?

Most of the Saturn games are good.

In the Hunt - Excellent two-player side-scrolling underwater shooter

Astal - Possibly the most beautiful platformer ever made.

Rayman - The original is the best.

Three Dirty Dwarves - No words can describe the awesomeness of this action game.

Virtual On - Awesome.

Bug! - Sometimes this is fun.

Heh I had a Panasonic FZ-1 3D0. There were a few decent games on (mostly the EA franchise). I'd recomment the Saturn though. My favourite Saturn games were:

Guardian Hero's
Virtua Cop I and II with Light Gun
Nights
Street Fighter Alpha/Zero Series
Virtua Fighter 2
Sega Rally
Daytona (the original version with nasty pop up rather than the later version they released which didn't quite 'feel' right)

I'm sure there's more awesome games I've forgotten but It's early and I'm not awake yet.

Well, iirc, you can buy non-multi region second hand Saturns here for £25, and that was 5 years ago. So you can probably get multi-region ones for that now...

Great games for it would be, errrm, lets see...

- Panzer Dragoon 1/2: 3D shoot 'em up that's kind of fun, though I was never all that good at it

- Panzer Dragoon Saga: If you get a Saturn, obtain a copy of this by any means necessary, especially if you like RPGs. This game is worth becoming an assassin for and killing off people until you become the sole benefactor of some distant relative's fortune, and can then actually afford it.

- Albert Oddyssey: Can't remember WHICH Albert Oddyssey was released for the Saturn, but it was great fun; like a SNES RPG basically, but with very very nice music and lovely cut scenes. Translated ans released by Working Designs.

- Magic Knights of Rayearth: Another Working Designs translation, the game is often slated for being too short. So when I saw it for £50, I didn't buy it; but if you like RPGs, go for it.

- Sonic R: A nice true 3D version of sonic that feels like a precursor to Sonic Adventure. Plays funly, especially in multiplayer, though I don't remember it as being as fast as I'd have liked. This is also available for the PC these days, but looked better on the Saturn (all the Sega conversions got left at 320x240 or whatever it was, and without the TV's natural bluring effect, that just looks kinda kakky).

- Guardian Heroes: Second only to Panzer Dragoon Saga, this is one of about 2 Saturn games I've got left. Personally, I'd call it the best 2D fighter ever - you get 3 layers you can fight on (which adds a LOT to strategy; you need to be on the right layer at the right time etc.), a *ton* of endings, lots of magic in addition to a lot of normal fighting moves, and RPG-esque levelling up. And not as expensive as PDS either :D

- Shing Force 3(a/B): There are 2 Shining Force 3s for Saturn, and one of them I haven't played. The other is great; think shining force 2 in, well, 3D. Lovely music, and loooong gameplay with a pretty good story to boot.

- Shining Wisdom: The graphics aren't what you'd call brilliant, but the gameplay is pretty good. A fairly immersive first person RPG (with Phantasy Star style battles). Give it a chance and its great fun.

- That Sonic Compilation: Can't remember what its called, but its got Sonic 1/2/3/knuckles plus a lot of scanned fan matterial and trailers and such on a single disk.

- Gekka Mugentan Toriko: An interactive movie more than a game. If you like things that *are* slow and rely on a fairly fixed (but very immersive) stories, then this is a game to get. But you could conceivably find it boring...

- Enemy Zero: The most unforgiving FPS/Adventure I've ever played. Basically, you get stranded on a space station that's been taken over by "Enemies" - that is, invisible mosters that kill you in one hit and can only be recognised by the beeping of a radar that tells you how close (but not where) they are. Add to that that there's a charging time for *every* shot, and its darn hard, but very fun. Give a shot.

Sorry I haven't mentioned more actioney games, but its mainly because I never got into them; if you go for a Saturn and like RPGier ones, though, this is a fairly good list :)

The other day I went on the net looking for a Dreamcast, but fell over something else I'm on the verge on bidding on instead.....

An Amiga CD 32....
what do you think?

Since i myself am a collector with 24+ systems, i can recommend the systems that I don't own yet.

CDI
3DO
Neo Geo CD(which is very expensive)
Watara Supervision
AdventureVision
MicroVision

as for recommending the systems I do have

Atari jaguar
Sega Saturn
Virtual boy rules

Get a saturn, they were sellin one in my local game a while back for £15 and games for like £1. it was brilliant.

were there any good master system games? i already have somewhere near 8 games for that (my mom was mistaken and thought they were genesis games...still neato tho...)...and the local game store has em pretty cheap (the games...system is 30...)

hmmmm...i decided that the person who does the prices at gamers (again, the local used game store...) is a prick...40 for a saturn with no games, 30 for an nes with no games, 30 for an snes with no games, 30 for a master system with no games.... <_<

YESSSSSSSSS!!! soo, i just got back from going to garage sales...I GOT A JAGUAR!!! with 6 games... 20 usd ...YEEEAAAAHHH
