This ASM core you have made has been the fastest thing since GPEngine was made so long ago. Congratulations dave...

Do you plan on implementing Reesy's Z80 sometime? Sorry to ask but this emulator has me drooling... All us genesis users have been waiting almost a year for a fast emulator...
Yeah I got the core off reesy (Great guy) and passed it on to fdave (Great Guy no.2) and also rlyeh (Another great guy  ) so they would use it for sound. Though according to my knowledge the z80 was not the main chip for sound processing as the Nomad and Genesis mark 3 did not have a z80 but I wont go into too much detail about it.

Hmm it says that the Z80 is not present in "MK-1631"... is that another genesis model or what? Well I guess the Z80 core would take some stress off the 68k, wouldn't it? I don't know all that much about Genesis hardware...

Yep the mark 3 Genesis was made in Brazil I believe it looked different and they chucked out the z80 as they did in the nomad. This made it not possible to play master system games anymore and also the sound was not as good quality because the z80 helped with the sound processing. Also a few games stopped working like around 10 I think wouldn't work. Anyway we will have a z80 core so :D is all I can say :p

Un fucking believeable!!

Sorry for the swearing, but I'm at a loss for any other words right now ...

I need only 3 things:

1) Save states.
2) Sound
3) A way to donate a few $$ (DOES he have a paypal acct?)

Seriously amazing work!!

Actually all versions of this emulator work full speed, even the 132mhz version, because of the auto-frameskip. If it would be slower than full speed, the emu automatically upps the frameskip a little
Yeah, I couldn't tell really any difference in the 132 and 156 versions so I just use the 132 version. Both versions seem to have a bit of in between frames missing (tried Sonic 2) and are full speed but a bit choppy in the animation. It looks to have a frameskip of 1 or 2 as default. It will be interesting to see if it will get sound in future version.

anyone got sonic 3 and knuckles working? that is my ultimate goal :)

It would be better if you could set frameskip on your own... (or atleast make a fxe with 0 frameskip). Sonic 2 is so fast (at least for me), and the screen updates to late for me to see what is happening....

But it is good :)

It is auto frameskip so it always runs at full speed, which is great and flawless. I wish all emulators had auto frameskip, especially osnes9x.

Well, I've been watching this board for a good few months, so I thought I better start posting. Anyway, GigaDrive is simply awesome, and has assured me that buying a GP32 was well worth the money. Keep up the awesome work, and never feel pressurized to hurry with the audio.

GigaDrive is certainly impressive, I can't believe the speed! I know its a work in progress, but just a few suggestions for the next version:

1. Sound (I know)
2. Save States
3. Support of longer filenames & better GUI (Loads of files named SONICT~1 are pretty confusing!)
4. Custom button config (remembered by emulator)
5. improved Compatibility! (Speedball 2 doesn't work!)

I know that these elements are being worked on as we speak, just my opinion. GREAT WORK!

damn, comix zone isn't working :(

well it was working but when you have to start playing it just hangs up :(

Ecco the dolphin 2 works fine
Dragon Ball Z works fine except the health bar doesnt show.
Sonic 1 Fine
Sonic 2 Fine
Sonic 3 Black screen
Sonic 3d Black Screen

Gunstar Heroes Black Screen
Ranger-x Works, gui glitch, crash
Road Rash loads, bad gfx glitch unplayable.

X-men works ok, gui glitch, reboots.

Wow, ranger-x is cool, i like the use of both buttons for shoot behind and forward.
