Went to a gig last nite, twas a band called shootin goon that was playin never heard em before but it was a very good skankin filled nite, ne1 else heard them before or know of them????

Edit: They're a ska band by the way

I mix of orchestral instrumental and rock music (usually). A ska band usually includes 1+ guitar, 1 bass, 1 drums, various wind instruments (trombones [my old instrument], trumpets, saxes) and a possible singer if that position is not filled by another member with an instrument.

Examples: Reel Big Fish. I think Less Than Jake is one. No doubt used to be a kind of ska band. Can't think of others off the top of my head.

I used to listen to ska. But then KoRn came along.

Better ask that Rancid-guy ;)
you talkin about me?

Madness were sorta half assed ska, rancid are ska-punk, people who dony really listen to that much music often confus ska and reggae (sp), its quite funny. o and rancid arnt really that much ska punk, just some stuff. less than jake are ska. reggae is better IMO.

Did'nt think about that... Just took ska as ska-punk (hence the Rancid-comment).
Now I'm just not really sure what kind of music Ernest was refering to.

Oh yeah... And you we're right... I was talking about you ;)
