I was wondering how I would go about zipping a bunch of files in a directory individually? I have searched google without any answers. I am running xp. Some one please help. :(

Ctrl + Click the files you want to zip.

Right click on the one of the highlighted files and select Send To ---> Compressed (zipped) folder.

The name of the zip will be the file you select when you right click (you can always rename this afterwards).

WinRar is a really good application for zipping loads of files as separate zipped files. You need to:
1) Highlight all the files
2) Right click on the highlighted files
3) Choose 'add to archive'
4) On the General tab choose 'zip'
5) On the Files table check the box that says 'Put each file in a separate archive'
6) Click OK

You can also use 7zips command line program and write a batch file for it but if you can, go WinRar as WhizzBang suggested.
