SNIP
Pretty much agree with you there. The Nintendo of today seems to have forgotten the way forward and is mostly just stuck behind a wall without any intention of really getting past it :/
I do intend to get Breath of the Wild eventually, but to me it really looks like a "me, too" game. Honestly, I'm actually happy it's a "me, too", because it'll at least have GOOD GAME DESIGN. I've been wanting a good proper open world action-adventure or RPG from Nintendo and they still haven't fulfilled that wish. The Xenoblade games are both regarded to be master pieces for whatever deranged reason, but I found them either dull because of the boring battle system or tiring due to all the padding. I found The Last Story to be way funner, and the story actually kept me interested. I know Xenoblade was SUPPOSED to have the better story, but I fell asleep after a few hours.
But yeah, nowadays I can't trust Nintendo to make good sequels to games like Paper Mario, Star Fox, Metroid, and Fire Emblem (especially Fire Emblem, I can't comprehend how crap games like Awakening and Fates can be so popular....well actually I kind of can, as things like SAO and that one anime/manga series with that dude trying to get girls in dungeons or something are popular) anymore.
