Okay guys, here is what I'm experiencing. Got my GP2X a few days ago and everything was working great. Using 2500 mAh batteries(some brand called ULTRA Pro) and battery life was fine. Yesterday, that all changed.
It happened after I plugged it into a power adapter in my car. At first I had removed the batteries to make sure it was actually running off the adapter and plugged it in...that worked fine. Then after my testing I thought I would plug it in "for real" as I was leaving for work, so I plugged it in with the batteries in and the unit running...it immediately locked up with messed up graphics on the screen. So I quickly yanked the plug and restarted. It looked fine, so I thought nothing more of it.
Later at work, I was listening to some music and it only go through 3 or so songs before it died. Subsequently, I'm now getting next to no battery life. A fully charged set, shows half depleted on first boot(and that's a 10 second Art-U uboot, cramfs boot) and I can put on a movie for maybe 10 seconds and they're depleated.
Any thoughts or ideas? Was I supposed to know not to hook up a power adapter with batteries in? Or do you thing it's unrelated to that? It was an ebay purchase, so no recourse with a retailer...
