Will The Gpu/cpu Of The Pandora Have Open Source Drivers?


I don't think that open source equals to better than proprietary from a performance point of view. From a compatibility pov, yes, surely it is better.

In particular, writing a high-performance OpenGL (ES or not) driver is very difficult. We'll see what people working with ATI specs will be able to achieve, even compared to the PoS the ATI proprietary drivers are :)

At most of the companies where I've worked, it was the second case. There was no documentation, and if I didn't understand something, I had to talk to the person who wrote it. Generally the engineers were busy trying to meet deadlines and didn't write documentation. Occasionally documentation was promised to a customer, and management hated that because it meant time taken away from another project.
