Wikipedia For Gp2x?

I've gotten sqlite to run on GP2X just fine, so I assume that would work...

When you say convert XML to MySQL... has MySQL been tested to run on the GP2X?
MySQL is needed for an intermediate state while preparing the wikipedia on a PC

This might be not quite what you were thinking of, but wouldn't it be equally possible to turn the downloaded wikipedia into a chm format?

Since chm is compiled, wouldn't it then stand to reason that its a further amount of compression (which would be good) and there are already chm readers which could be ported to the gp2x reasonably simply. xchm for example.

I might have completely the wrong idea about chm files, but from what I can tell, they certainly seem to be pretty much what the gp2x ordered - all you need to do is perhaps set some of the buttons to fulfil the common functions within chm files. 'Back', 'Next' and 'Contents' for example.

Just an idea.

I miss the point of such requirements...
Are you sure that it's really needed to have apache mysql and php?

Why not a c++/java/whatever interface with a sqlite database?

Yes, this is exactly what we need. Now, it is just a matter of porting the code to gp2x. Easy :D
