Long time ago I was very big on the heavy metal and such. I had been listening to IronMaiden, Testament, Megadeth, Motorhead and others. Later I got hooked to the Slayer, Sodom, Obituary, Death, Incubus, Venom...

There were many more I can not remember now.

Later I got used to somewhat less heavy things. Prorock and fusion, electric jazz like the WeatherReport or even MilesDavis.

Then had showed newer albums of the Samael. I had quite fun listening to them and the passage and eternal are ones of the best albums I ever have heard.

For now I'm not listening as much. Yet I likes very much some pieces of Bach sometimes.

I go through phases but I can enjoy all these different types of music on different levels anytime:

Classical (enjoying more modern stuff recently)
Ska (namely Capdown)
Drum 'n Bass (Ben Sage ^__^)
Underground hip-hop (MF DOOM)
Chip (meh)
Electronic (cuevox, thanks Rico)
Experimental (Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky)
A bit of power metal (Rhapsody)

Jazz (I've got a hardon for jazz piano)
Classical (I don't like the baroque era much though)
Progressive Rock
Experimental stuff, jazz fusion blah blah etc.

Oh and some indie and classic rock.

EDIT:
Experimental (Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky)
Those are hardly experimental. They're more instrumental indie ish.

Those are my favorite bands:

The tough (and prefered) ones:

Insision -> hardest Death Metal ever, but soooo gooooood...
Morbid Angel -> saw them twice live: unbelievable how good they are!
Deicide
Bloodbath
Death
Massacra -> vive la France...
Obituary
Slayer

Now the softies:

Exodus (I saw the in concert last year: it was crazy!)
Testament
Overkill
Anthrax
Venom
Testament
Saxon
Coroner
King Diamond

...and Depeche-mode, Neil Young, Jimmy Hendricks: can you believe it?

Way to bump!

I have just got one of the new Ipod shuffles. Have to say it is fantastic, at what it does...

It's just so small, and feels so nice to hold! The clip is a great idea-wearing your ipod like a badge. And of course it sounds great!

For a playlist machine it's perfect. However Anapod just can't sync with it, and of course there is no display(I like this!).

Filled it with lots of The Frames, and off I go!

Now the thread is revived:

Black metal

Videogame music and rearrangement/doujin scene. (despite not being a genre on itself, still... I have a nice cd collection of various bands such as the OneUps, minibosses, powerglove, ...)

Ambient

Oh, and the classical stuff in other metal genres, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, ...

And on occasion classical music, jazz, progressive rock, ...

Im eclectic so ill listen to anything. currently im listening to:

Panic! at the disco
Evanescence
Beethoven
static X
game remixes / Piano remixes
and a my space band called "diztactions" (i hate that name) but im friends with the lead guitarist and is teaching me how to play.

There 1st live gig is tommorow

Didn't know about the pianoremixes, that's pretty cool. Especially because Dhsu and Bladiatorare on there, they're pretty awesome.. Especially their songs on The OneUps new, free EP Bad Dudes. :)

I've got a 'copy' of the new Damien Rice album. It's not the happiest jolliest collection of songs.

But it's nice. Listening to him, you always feel that you know the songs already, cos they always sound the same. But in a good way.

I'll listen to just about anything. I like my 80's rock and roll, my rock n pop, nu metal, emo. Its probably easier to just name examples of bands I listen to because my range of music is diverse.

Journey
Evanescence
Queen
Paramore
All American Rejects
HIM
Foreigner
Nena
Meatloaf
REM
Creed
Lostprophets

And thats only a short list. In all, i probably listen to more than 100 artists over a wide range of genres.
