What have you bought recently?

Get a lil 9 inch one
Yeah but that sux for two of my favourites, wii sports and wario ware. I almost got an old 20" apple cinema display.... that would have been cool but I'm really excited about OSSC Which should have arrived today.

Technically it shouldn't be in this topic, but I got a vive focus 3 from work to play with.
I tried my demo from my own vive focus plus, and it runs fine on this headset.

I bought Fenyx Rising by Ubisoft for the Switch. Turns out, as long as the Switch has an internet connection, the software refuses to let me start a game, if it cannot positively check that I've got a user account at Ubisoft's. Also, without an account I don't get to have the "free" DLCs that come with the game, which are said to be huge. In general you have two options to save the game - locally or online with Ubisoft. During challenges though the button for local saving is greyed out. At the in-game HQ you can get (but only when having an account) rewards for tertiary task - stuff that would be fullfilled anyway by playing the game. The rewards are more of the resources you need to further your equipment. In other words, make an account or you have to grind more than the sheeple who do.

Whoever thought, that would be acceptable. Never again Ubisoft. I guess, now I'm preparing to make a scene at the super market, should they decide not to give me my money back.

Nice, although I'm not a fan of the speyside flavour myself, only really enjoying Talisker, Highland Park, Old Pultenay and most of the Islay malts. They say there's something in the seaside air, probably in the malting process, and it's certainly true that those I've selected there are all on he coast or on an island. And the increase in complexity in a longer cask aging certainly is appreciable and should be appreciated if you actually like the base flavour.

This is for a gift actually. Supposed to be especially old fashioned. Label is quite fancy.

This is the one I got for myself. I hope it to be piety yet rounded due to the sherry casks.

Chipotle is probably my favourite hotsauce

They seem to think the peatiness (which I assume is what you meant rather than the actual word you used) comes from the peat fires set to dry out the malted barley. And as far as I know sherry casks are pretty much the default cask to use. But a whisky from the isle of Arran is certainly more up my street than any average speyside that's for sure, so I hope you enjoy it.

No idea why I put off getting one of these for so long.
Turns out I do a lot more cleaning if I can just quickly grab this small hand vacuum off the table, instead of having to lug around ye olde realible. I don't really like Mediamarkt in Germany. They rip you off with small items and most of the people working there are painfully inept. Just imagine paying 16€ for a 2$ China USB sound card. It's nuts. But - you can go in there and actually test at least some appliances. This one was the best combination of weight and suction. It is quite loud and whiny, but there's only so much room available for a motor. And I prefer the easy handling over acoustic properties for something that's used for actual work, and only a few minutes at the time.

Also this box has arrived, hm...

Cool Tiny Flashlight, fits even in the Fenix Headlamp Adapter, and whit the Charging Case, you don’t have to worry that it’s forgotten to charge when you need it..
usually you would put the Case in your Backpack and carry the Light in the Pocket, but if you have Pockets big enough for a Pyra, it’s also fits there whit the Case..

Need to pick it up from the post-office still... but spent a bit of cash to finally get a system I wanted since the early 90s...
This NEO-GEO AES is a modded one with Component and SVideo and has the Uni-Bios already installed. Came with Fatal Fury, but spent a bit to get a few more games, KOF 2000 and Samurai Spirits II (Shodown II)

Edit: picked it up, As I always do with old electronics tested the Power supply quickly, seemed good. Hitched it up quickly to my TV and works great!, I need to find some space on my 36" CRT TV with Component inputs I have my "retro" systems on. Have a feeling this will be used a bit once I get it setup nicely.

It's still somewhat available, but finding one for as cheap as I got mine is a bit hard and to me it was still a bit expensive, mine was modded so it's less interesting for collectors that want a pristine example. Also some games can be more expensive than the system itself. Although Metal Slug 2 was a popular title in the Arcades and getting the actual Arcade Cartridge can be had for under $70 USD. Also it's funny that the actual cartidges for the arcade system tend to be cheaper than the one that were sold for the home systems, despite literally being the same game, just with some extra fancy labels and a box.

Looking at the pinout for the joystick port it's pretty simple. I think I will make my own Joystick controller out of the actual arcade buttons and such I had laying around from a project I never started. It uses the same plug as the Japanese Famicom, so getting a cable to hack apart should be easy there are extenders for sale everywhere.
