it was originally developed by Rainbow Arts who became Factor 5... now, at the time Nintendo threatened to sue Rainbow Arts due to the similarity between Super Mario Bros and Giana Sis... so it was withdrawn (I think) from some formats.
Fast forward to the late 90s and beyond.. factor 5 develop rogue squadron for the n64 (and rogue leader for the gc) and are big chums with nintendo (they also dev'd the divx codec for the gc and the musyx sound api for the gc/gba)...
so they probably don't want to bring up that old thorny issue between themselves and nintendo!
