What Are You Getting For Christmas?

I think it's the cheap way out. You say you aren't a material girl, but what if he bought you a diamond necklace or a gift card to your favorite store (bloomingdales? No idea if it's international or not....)?

I think you have a low image of women, we're not all like that you know. Sometimes being together and happy is far more important than expensive gifts. Of course I will probably get a little present, it will be what I want too, but I wouldn't care if I got nothing. For me the fun time I have during Christmas with the various parties with friends etc means much more, that's what I'm really looking forward to :)

So what am I getting for Christmas? A fun time with friends and a special time alone with my boyfriend and a turkey on Christmas day, and please, no kinky turkey gags :D

I don't have a low image of women at all. "diamonds are a girl's best fried" is a famous saying now, and in your profile, you clearly state that you love shopping. Two times.

So then, would you like to retract your previous comment? :)

Besides, sometimes it's th simple fact that someone went out of their way to make you happy. It's never about what the gift is, but the thought behind it. It doesn't have to be expensive at all.

You can really look at both sides of the arguement here. Some say that Xmas and the holidays isnt about getting stuff, and some say it's a time to give, not to receive. So it's not as though anybody is wrong here, it all boils down to opinion. I wouldn't say someone is all about material things if they wanted a gift for the holidays, after all, it's a time for people to exchange presents with loved ones as well. :)

i know i buy enough stuff the rest of the year to not care if i get anything for christmas...
i guess its the same for everyone else, most of the time its just a chore (SP) having to buy presents for everyone and pretty soon another 12 months will have gone by and have to do all this shit again...

Ah, you equate shopping with gifts. I can't imagine Phil buying me clothes or shoes for Christmas, and that's two of the main things I love shopping for. So no I wont retract my statement :D. Also I'm not sure you get it or not, but shopping is fun, you don't even have to buy anything!

When you go "shopping", you buy things. otherwise it's called "looking" ;)

And no, i never said I equate shopping with gifts. I gave the example of you getting a certificate to go shopping, and you said I have a low standard of women and they all arent like that. But in your profile you say you like shopping. Understand? Same thing with the diamon comment, women like diamonds and jewelery in general. I wasnt equating that with gift giving per se.

Not getting a great deal, nothing I really want I don't think?

New Wacom graphics tablet (the cheapest one I can get) because trying to edit images on my laptop with the touchpad is a god damn joke.
Copy of Battlefield 2142 for the pc, as BF2's one of the only games I bother to play on the pc anymore. My GP2X is mainly used for gaming :)
A couple of pairs of decent jeans to be used on the rare occasions that I actually get to go to the pub or clubbing.

I'm with Fluffy on this one screw the commercial crap, I just want to get leathered & have a laugh with friends :D

What i really look forward to is the school off. I GET TO GO SKIING A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (don't forget snowboarding :D )

A big hug from my boyfriend :)

(He's a cheapo, eh?)
I was going to say the same thing

How about a hug AND a gift?

How about a hug AND a gift AND oral sex?

If she's not materialistic and that he's not a cheapo and/or that he cares, he would give her a memorable time by... doing whatever it takes to give a girl a memorable time, lol. If I had a girlfriend that's what I'd do, or that's what I'd like to be done, lol.

Oh and won't you guys get anything that's not video games related?

Nope you really don't get it, if I go out with the girls shopping, we can make an afternoon of it, even go for a pub lunch first. It's fun and a sociable thing.

You really have got the wrong impression of me, I'm really looking forward to Christmas, and it's got nothing to do with any potential gifts, I never have been one for "gimme more gifts please". Like I already said, I'm looking forward to being with friends, being happy, having a few drinkypoos, cooking for them, works parties, time off work and a bloody good knees up :) Again, That's what Christmas is for me!!! So lay off the "Diamonds are a girls best friend", as any girl will tell you the better friend is a comfy bra. Granted I like sparkly pretty jewelry, and Phil bought me a lovely necklace for my birthday, but I would prefer a diamond in a special ring, if you get what I mean.

Oh well, shall we get back on topic now?

An SD full of homebrew from the community contest, and maybe Payback or the TV out cable. :)

The cable is really awesome btw. I've used it the past 2 weeks to watch Prison break (my cable provider is completely screwed up, and when I move in 3 weeks I'm getting a good company) when I missed it. Really great quality, both sound and picture wise. And it really impresses everyone in the house :D

I recommend it highly, although the connection is sometimes dodgy.

im not getting anything this year :( but instead of going to stay in a secluded log cabin with my g/f for a week yay :D

I don't really know what I'll be getting for Christmas. I am getting myself a Wii for my birthday and I think one of my friends may buy me a game since she works in the games shop and would get a discount. ^_^
But apart from that I really don't know...

I'm in agreement with Fluffy... I just want a hug from my girlfriend, but that's kinda difficult when she is currently very far away :(

That's sweet, and a bit sad she's far away. Me and Phil used to have a long distance relationship and it was hell at times. But he always managed to make it here for Christmas :). Luckily tho, he lives here now :)
