It occurs to me that a use for the dsp (aside decoding video) would be to mix audio so a multiple channel tracker like mod could be played without burden to the cpu.

While trying to find out if this was a suitable idea I have noticed that I can't seem to find any specific info to the pandora about accessing the dsp,
is it even available during normal use ? - for all I know its being worked during a normal session anyhow!
is there a kernel module?
ioctl or some other obscure method for the pandoras OS to access it?

I'm off to investigate any beagle board uses for the dsp, but I'd be very interested to hear of anyones experiments with the dsp!

There are currently no DSP drivers or software included, and I haven't heard anyone trying to use it. Like you said, easiest way would be following beagleboard guides, I could help compiling or compile some modules if you want (when you decide what to use, dspbridge or dsplink).

There was this google scholar on here who was busy with it.

At least I think thats what he wants to do.
