Using a Huawei E220

I looked into the Wiki ( http://pandorawiki.org/USB_compatibility_list#HSDPA_.283G.29_Modems ) and there stands, that this modem will work for me. But I don't know how.

I'm using a hub for connecting my Huawei E220 to my pandora.

What do I have to do next? Could somebody help me? Thanks :)
I can't - yet - haven't got my Pandora. But there must be someone else out there with both? Anyway, I'll test my E220 with the Pandora when I get it. A lot of time has passed now, but I did a lot of hacking and scripting and testing when I got my E220 working with my desktop and laptop computers. If I remember correctly there were only two issues, none of which should be x86/ARM dependent:

1) Avoid that the kernel detects the E220 as a CD-ROM (because it's dual: The "CD-ROM" part holds drivers for Win and Mac. Linux doesn't need any.) I believe this E220 handling fix has been part of the regular kernel for quite a while now and should therefore be part of the Pandora kernel too. 'dmesg' will tell you what it believes when you plug in your E220.

2) Then it's just a question of setting up your PPPD / Chat scripts correctly. That can be a bit messy, as always. You'll need to know the details for your provider.

3) Vodafone developed support for Linux which will sort this out for most users. It's possible to go that route too. It should work on Pandora as well (as long as no. 1: is fixed in the kernel, which I believe it is) because it's all scripts as far as I remember. I've got one version of their setup stored away somewhere. (I haven't been using my E220 for a year or more because the 3G packet loss (whenever more than a few customers were online, apparently) would drive me crazy.)
