Well, I've tried usb/rs232 on the caanoo, and it don't create a new virtal port com :wacko: :( .

what's occured when I connect and disconect device USB/RS232 of the caanoo (dmesg) :

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using UBI9032 Test HCD and address 2
usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 2
what's occured when I connect and disconect device USB/RS232 of the computer whith (dmesg) :
[ 4189.724048] usb 2-8: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3
[ 4190.019481] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial
[ 4190.019524] USB Serial support registered for generic
[ 4190.022610] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic
[ 4190.022618] usbserial: USB Serial Driver core
[ 4190.045727] USB Serial support registered for FTDI USB Serial Device
[ 4190.047146] ftdi_sio 2-8:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[ 4190.047277] usb 2-8: Detected FT232RL
[ 4190.047284] usb 2-8: Number of endpoints 2
[ 4190.047290] usb 2-8: Endpoint 1 MaxPacketSize 64
[ 4190.047295] usb 2-8: Endpoint 2 MaxPacketSize 64
[ 4190.047300] usb 2-8: Setting MaxPacketSize 64
[ 4190.051813] usb 2-8: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0
[ 4190.053541] usbcore: registered new interface driver ftdi_sio
[ 4190.053548] ftdi_sio: v1.6.0:USB FTDI Serial Converters Driver
[ 4528.239775] usb 2-8: USB disconnect, address 3
[ 4528.240866] ftdi_sio ttyUSB0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
[ 4528.240892] ftdi_sio 2-8:1.0: device disconnected

However, when I read the kernel source of firmware 1.6.0, I find his driver's source : ftdi_sio.c et ftdi_sio.h

What's happening ? and how can I doing?

You'll have to compile the kernel module.

thinks for your answers :) .

I have tested to compile the kernel module and I obtain ftdi_sio.ko. :huh:
Then I have tested to insert the module ftdi.ko in the caanoo by a script with insmod

the result with dmesg on caanoo:
ftdi_sio: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
ftdi_sio: Unknown symbol usb_serial_port_softint
ftdi_sio: Unknown symbol usb_serial_disconnect
ftdi_sio: Unknown symbol usb_serial_probe
ftdi_sio: Unknown symbol usb_serial_register
ftdi_sio: Unknown symbol usb_serial_deregister

I don't understand :blink:

Insert the usbserial.ko module before the ftdi_sio.ko.

Thinks !!! :D

Now when I do dmesg on caanoo, I obtain :

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using UBI9032 Test HCD and address 3
usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
ftdi_sio 1-1:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
drivers/usb/serial/ftdi_sio.c: Detected FT232RL
usb 1-1: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0

but I can't find ttyUSB0 like a file, it is a directory, I have tested "ls -alR | grep "ttyUSB0""

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 27 10:30 ttyUSB0 -> ../../../devices/platform/UBI9032 Test HCD/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0/ttyUSB0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 27 10:30 ttyUSB0 -> ../../../../devices/platform/UBI9032 Test HCD/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0/ttyUSB0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Jul 27 10:22 ttyUSB0
./sys/class/tty/ttyUSB0:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 27 10:30 device -> ../../../devices/platform/UBI9032 Test HCD/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0/ttyUSB0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Jul 27 10:22 ttyUSB0
./sys/devices/platform/UBI9032 Test HCD/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0/ttyUSB0:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 27 10:30 tty:ttyUSB0 -> ../../../../../../../class/tty/ttyUSB0

normally, it will appear in the /dev/ directory ?

Because /dev is read-only, you'll have to create the device yourself (on some other directory):
Code:
# mknod ttyUSB0 c 188 0
# mknod ttyUSB1 c 188 1
...
