I think he's referring to X11R7. I didn't know it was out yet, I thought 6.9 was the most current.

Although finally stable on my sytem(My reason for this post), after many stability problems(although about 20% increase in opengl speed) its finally stable. It has never taken me so long to install something that has had so little difference(The changes in reality might be enormous) since I moved to Linux. I only put it on to see whether it would solve some graphics glitches in Eternal Lands(Which it didn't).

Haha i suspect your using Gentoo, or a different source based distro?

Modular X is the way of the future, you might as well get it done now than later .

KDE took 2 days to compile on my older 1.6ghz computer. Pretty long if you ask me

KDE takes forever to compile on my 1.6GHz FreeBSD laptop, too, but part of it is when it stops to wait for me to input an option or two and I've gone to bed or work or something. It's the sort of thing that's really convinced me of the greatness of binary packages.

Haha binaries are nice, but i like to customize a lot of my stuff. Regardless of whatever speed increase your supposed to get, i like the customizing.
