I recently purchased a GP2x with 1.0 firmware, so I thought "why not get the benefit of uprgraded softwares?"
How wrong could I be!
Not only did the upgrade f@@k up my XviD files (which played perfectly on 1.0) it also caused a problem with switching it on and getting a screen full of rainbow lines, which is due to the faulty power switch on the side of the thing (press all the way down, f@@ked up, 3/4 way down, power up!) which can crash the system with a slight knock or sideways glance.
I managed to re-flash the firmware back to 1.0 (thanks John Willis), and then the firmware 1.4 arrived on the scene.
I started the upgrade, but the unit crashed during the upgrade (see rainbow lines problem) and will not re-flash to 1.0 nor will boot into 1.4 (I just get the loading screen).
Anyone out there have a similar problem? I would like to get it replaced (under warranty) but where in the UK can I get it done? I have no receipt because I purchased it from ebay!
