Yes, VBA works great with gpSP

No real Linux experience necessary when dealing with the Pandora at all. Using an application is often as easy as downloading a PND file and copying it to a directory on your SD card.

Hello Skubblers, welcome to the Open Pandora boards.

You can find a list of emulators on this page. It does list a port of Visual Boy Advance, but gpSP is likely to have better performance for GBA games. The usual place to get your software is the repo, but not all software can be found there.

Neogeo can be emulated with different mame versions, gngeo or final burn alpha :)

Hullo, Linux noob here, how's everyone, etc.
I'd never used Linux in my life and even though I've written and used a couple of apps for the Pandora I'm still not sure if I've used Linux or not! :P

The Pandora is so easy to use you won't even realize that you're not using whatever OS you generally use. It's different in some ways but very similar in others. Sure there are things missing that you might like in other OS's but you won't miss them too much or for too long.
