Just installed Tiggit & I'm loving it, reckon a few others on these boards will too.

From the Tiggit home page :

Tiggit is an open source game launcher and installer.

Our mission: to help you find all the awesome indie games that exist 'hidden' around the internet.

Tiggit is a desktop app that installs and launches games with one click. It is sort of like an open source Steam clone, but much simpler and currently with only freeware games and demos.

Features:

  • Contains over 250 freeware games (and a few demos)
  • New games added continuously
  • No account or registration required

If you have problems running / updating then set Tiggit to run as admin, that worked for me.

Right, time for another game of super crate box :) .

This has been making the rounds of a number of news sites lately. I was wondering how long it would be until someone mentioned it here.

Would this work on the Pandora? There's some games on there I love like Narbacular Drop and BZFlag.

Errr, no. Both Tiggit & the games would have to be ported. You can of course enjoy more or less equivalent functionality on the Pandora by using PNDManager or similar, good to see the PC is catching up. :p

Seems like an opportunity for someone to make a source-based distribution, wherein the client app is the compiler/toolchain required to build from sources .. ;)

This might be a nightmare to maintain though, if you want to support linux, windows, macos etc...
