Hi,

I wonder if someone could port these emulators to the Pandora ? They can be launched with Ginge, but a real port would be better.

Sources are on the links, Zx81 ported some of them for Wiz or Caanoo, but won't for the Pandora.

Thanx !

Just a quick trial of dcto8d, mainly makefile fixes, see the picture below.

No sound at all up to now (issue with the SDL layer i guess) and i need to check the keyboard.

Expect a PND in the following days :)

Cant find much info about this system on the net. Is it french made or something? What are the graphics like and what games are considered good on this system

In the 80's, the french company Thomson (now Technicolor) decided to create a set of computers, all based on a Motorola MC6809E, running at 1Mhz, with various KB of RAM and supported colors/resolutions, depending on the models :

  • TO7, TO7/70, MO5, TO8, MO6 were family computers, competing in the same market segment than Amstrad CPCs and Comodore 64/128.
  • TO9, TO9+ where professionnal computers (with available software like 'Paragraphe', a word processord and Multiplan of Microsoft :) )

All of them include Microsoft BASIC.

A full panel of the computers with emulators and pictures is available here : http://www.logicielsmoto.com/emulateurs.php

Technically, the computers were not so bad and some interesting peripherals were available : a light pen, to use as a touchscreen on your TV (yes !) and a network system (called "Nano-reseau", meaning "Nano-network").

The systems were very popular in France and were available (MO5 and TO8/TO7) in all the school for children between 12-16 by a government decison (kind of commercial dumping :) ). The governement plan was that all children shall learn BASIC with networked MO5 !

Unfortunatly, apart from some attemps to sell it in Germany and Italy (under the brand Olivetti), it was a commercial failure outside France, and the computer division brand of Thomson closed in 1989.

Regarding the games, they are in french at 95%, with some unique titles never release on other platforms. In terms of graphical/sound experience, expect something betwen the ZX Spectrum and the CPC/C64, as the graphical and sound processor of the Thomson computer were less powerful than these systems.
