So what is the perfect all around SD card with the right price and performance? What kind of cards does the GP2X store sell with their Wiz's? Also what SD card is better Kingston or Sandisk? Thank you!

Hi Hoax,
I am not an expert nor the seller of the hardware. But still I have some idea about the hardware and like to share with you.
I am using the Kingston since 4 years, I have even used the scandisk I prefer Kingston instead of scandisk. The Kingston is faster to interact then the scandiks. I don't have any idea about the price but you can preview it in ebay when you decided which one to buy and how much Gb should be the card be.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Hoax, I recently wrote (with the help of the community) an SD buyer's guide on the Pandora community blog. Some of the stuff is Pandora specific, but we ended up with a lot of good, general information in there too. The Speed Class and Safety Guide sections will both be of use to you. The comments section contains a lot of good information too.

According to the linked article, flash memory prices are on the rise... What is the reason for this? Is it just our good friend inflation (govs printing money), or is there some technical hurdles reeling their ugly heads?

The general consensus seems to be that prices have returned to where they "should" be. Demand for flash memory has exploded in the last few years, so manufacturers were pumping it out by the ton and selling at cost or below to stay competitive. Then the GFC came along and gave everyone a reality check.

I have a 4Gb kingston SDHC in my wiz, it was next to free, around 60 DKL ~12 USD, I've ordered 4 more, so I can have some for movies and music aswell :)

This looks like a pretty good card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208293

Especially considering the cost.

The price has been artificially low for the past year due to massive over-production. I go for Sandisk cos I know that Kingston used to have one good plant and one bad plant but you wouldn't know which one you had until after you handed your money over. They may well have sorted that out by now but I haven't been bothered checking.
