Does it still use hte same charger input as the old DS?

The only thing I hate about the Nintendo DS Lite now is that about a year ago the "ugly" DS appeard an now you have a Lite. Just like the GBA and GBA SP! That's the second time Nintendo does something like that. And I know for sure they had plans to launch a "better" edition of the DS when they released the original. Screw Nintendo!

Btw, why can't I upload a avatar and is the one I had removed?

i got mine on tuesday (they tried to deliver while i was out saturday so had to wait till then to pick it up). i thought it would be smaller, the screen is massively improved to the old ds, seems much sharper and lots brighter, but on the downside i think the new screen draws attention to the fact that the graphical power of the ds isn't that good, where as the darker, slightly 'fuzzier' screen on the old ds makes lines seem a bit smoother, but overall it is good.

oh and with the charger, you must get a stepdown converter at the moment, until the uk lite is out anyway, its a totally new imput.

Ive had my DS Lite for about 2 weeks now. The main reason i bought it is because i can fit it in my pocket now. Easier to smuggle in to work ;)
I passed of the original DS to a family member who is much enjoying it. It sucks that it now uses a different charger, but the batter life is incredible on the Lite. It was days before i had to charge the damn thing! Very nice update. One thing i liked, which i wasnt expecting, is that the d-pad now "rocks" back and forth like a console controller. The old DS d-pad was very still feeling in comparison. It was immediatly noticable in Mario Kart.

Everything on the NDS lite is an improvement to the original, in my honest opinion. :)

I am really tempted buy a DS Lite. I almost bought an ordinary DS a while ago, they sold them off really cheap at a local chain of stores, for around €80. But I had already heard of the Lite version, so I decided to hang in there. Wonder when they are going to release it in Sweden. And then there's the matter of buying a GP2X ... need more time ... need more money :D

:D Congrats to those who already have a Nintendo DS lite and to those who have not bothered to import one, because of power reasons or whatever, well I only have 15 words to say to you...

Please get yourself one of these babies as soon as it launches in your country.

By the way, strangely enough, Nintendo DS lite launches in Australia/New Zealand, before anyone else (with the the exception of Japan of course).
Yes that's right! A full 10 days before US-of A and Canada! 2006 June 1 to be exact and Europe is still TBA. :D :p

EDIT: Strangely enough again, Ninty have chosen the color to be Polar White for all countries, while Japan bask in 3 wonderful colors, Crytal White (which is virtually Polar White), Ice Blue and Enamel Navy. :)

It's Ninty being usual evil Ninty. They know people want black and purposely holding back the color to test the peoples will, have them buy white and then black. I, for one, will have to decide whether get white DS lite that will turn to pee color in a year or wait til they release the black color that I want...with New Super Mario Bros around the corner, my patience is running really low. Well, I'll be one of the suckers who buys the same thing over and over again for no good reason. :)

I think Gamespot gave the new Mario game 9.5. But I'll play it on my old DS. All you ponces that care about how the console actually looks are...well, ponces.

I won't mention how I bought a new Video Ipod last week, then.

I disagree for once Lubidog.

I bought a GBA SP even though the DS had recently been launched. The reason was the SP can be carried anywhere in a pocket.

TBH I always have my GP32 in my rucksack along with my SP but if I'm called out of my office to fix something I always grab the SP and sling it in my pocket along with my M500 book reading palm. That way if I end up waiting for some tests to run on whatever PC or Server I'm working on I can grab a quick game or read if noone is about.

A DS would be too big to carry without attracting "Are you pleased to see me or is that a first generation Nintendo DS in your pocket?" type comments from the secretaries.

A DS lite on the other hand may be small enough to carry anywhere.

I think that they listened to the complaints of the users and fixed most of them.

Many said that it was a tank, and quite ugly (remember the original E3 model) and the stylus is just way too small. Plus, many said when holding it with one hand it gets tiring, so they improved all of those + added better screens. I put my DS with ouendan next to my friends lite with ouendan, DAMN what a difference.

The Enamel Navy needs a special mention, apparently it is almost black in some lights. And quite beautiful.

It is however prone to PSP Fingerprint Smudging, so get your lens-wipes ready. Handy for tracing the thief if it gets nicked though.

Rumor has it, that Dark blue is being replaced with black and light blue will never see the light of day in the US.
