Hi,

Obviously I'm new here ;) .

This is fresh from engadget : http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/11/tcls-io...ck-on-this-pig/
Same price same form-factor product.
But a quick look at the spec :
a smaller CPU (no L2 cache...)
a smaller RAM (64M, against the 128M of the pandora)
an inferior display
they dont even speak about the GPU :)
no bluetooth but a GPS.

So basically, this community have created a more powerfull yet in the market range price. good job :)

PS: I hope I'll be in the first 3000 lucky one.

It is much closer to the Wiz in terms of specs and form factor, but I don't think GPH needs to worry too much. WiMo is not exactly a stellar gaming platform, and we all know how well pseudo-dpads work out. Comparing this thing to either the Pandora or Wiz does not make it look very good.

Engadget really really likes everything Microsoft, so the reason they're drooling over this is because of CE. If it was running Linux it wouldn't even be listed on their site or would be lack-luster story.

I don't get it. The blurb states that "We simply can't get enough of cheap, nasty, and niche Windows CE devices" but the picture on the display seems to be Windows XP?

Help?

OK I've foubf some more information out. It is indeed WindowsCE, decked out to look like XP.

There is an in-depth look at the device here. It's got built in camera and GPS which are a plus over Pandora. If it had a built-in mic I'd actually seriously be considering this. It does look pretty cool. Though I guess emulation would be limited to nothing higher than SNES

Did you even read the article? It was hardly complimentary.
