Taking Of Cap

help? I tried pulling, wiggling etc. and nothing :(
(a diagram would really be appreciated  )
edit: typo in topic title name, sorry!

I saw your post and laughed out loud  . I was playing Gigawing on CPS2X tonight ;and during frenetic gameplay my cap flew off and bounced off my forehead into the corner of the room  . It took me five minutes to find it  :D . Ive never removed my cap before, and like you, had wiggled it and pulled at it lightly to no avail. Now I know not to be so gentle with it. Just try putting both thumbs under the cap and push up on it, just when you think your pushing too hard it will give. It should just pull off with enough force-and it wont hurt it. ;)

That failing, fire up Gigawing for an episodic session..........works like a charm!

some heavy grease and hacksaw blades should do it.
 shut up, I'm not that stupid!! :P

Morpheus384- thanks, whats Gigawing??

Gigawing was ported from the Arcades to the Dreamcast where I first played it. The arcade version is so much better. Its a frenetic shoot 'em up with variable interesting powerups, and the ability to gather and reflect enemy fire to their sources. Heres the wiki.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giga_Wing

Its completely playable with sound on CPS2X (CPS2 Test version 4).

 Tip: ----- if you experience a large black bar in the upper half of the screen halfway through the first level, as I did at first, use the devastator bomb to vaporize all combatants on the screen for the second or so it happens, then play through ;) .

Another good shooter for CPS2X is Mars Matrix also ported to the Dreamcast. But unfortunately, it runs TOO FAST! with sound in CPS2X (CPS2 Test Version 4), And under-clocking messes with the sound.

The emu is still in its infancy; but the results thus far are just astounding!

Hope this helps you get that Damn Cap off!.. :D

DON'T TWIST IT!!!

I read somewhere on these forums to give it a twist and that's how I knackered my first GP2X stick - it went really loose and floppy after that... Then it started to make grinding noises...

Just pull it using your thumb & 2 fingers and use your knuckles for leverage. It's hard to get off there, but it will eventually pop off.

If it's a V2, you'll probaby end up keeping the original cap anyway - I find it to be better than the one with GP2X written on it.

this is hilarious to me. since i bought my GP2X, the cap has always been loose. Infact, I superglued my cap onto the unit so it wouldn't keep coming off when i play. The most frustrating thing (well.. next to the batteries going long after my last saved state) is to play a game that doesn't pause and have the cap fly off, only to be stuck finishing the sequence with the sharp pin underneath! (took me a long time to decide to glue it, since i'm holding out for the time when i'm ready to do a d-pad mod, and this could mess that possibility up)

Yes, the GP2X cap is on correctly. If I recall correctly, the MK2's have the same stick ast teh MK1's but it's rotated 45 degrees to improve the playability of the stick with the current deadzone area
