Dear readers,

Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a tutorial about taking apart a Super Nintendo. Thanks in advance,

Not quite as simple as that Orkie, but pretty close :)

First thing you'll need is a screwdriver for Nintendo security screws in the bottom of the console. Unless of course you don't mind drilling them out or smashing the case apart.

You can get such a tool from ebay.

Screw that!

Just use a flat screwdriver from the dollar store (or $2-3 at the local hardware store), get a metal file or grinder and take off material until there is a good tight fit, then unscrew the screw.

I have a kick-ass mini-screwdriver, I went to remove a security Torx bit with it and it snapped the security button right out:

Then I could use this to screw it back in:

I just wish they came in Hex and tri-wing (and maybe security Torx and square drive), they are very sturdy, I have put a few foot-pounds into them now and then.

If you want to see a crazy collection, including pin drive, see the bottom of this web page: http://www.dansdata.com/tools.htm

If you play with nintendo stuff you might just want to buy one, they are less than $5 shipped from hong kong.
