Quick Overview
City building simulation with addictive gameplay. Choose your map; build your zones and see your city develop.

Graphics
Very basic greaphics; even for the SNES and there is a more advanced version out for the SNES but in my opinion this is the superior version, in my book good gameplay always wins over fancy graphics.

Gameplay
This is where Super Sim City really stands out, you have three types of zone; Commecial, Residential and Industrial; you must design your city with these keeping your peopel happy. There are also many other things that you can put in your city from police stattions, stadiums to things that are awarded to you; casinos etc. While this gameplay may seem basic it hooked me for hours on my Aunties SNES and it still does on my Dreamcast (dreamsnes) and especially on my gp32.

Overall
While this game originally looks basic it is a complex and fun simulation. While I had my GBA I always wanted this to be released and unfortunately they released the other verision. In my eyes is this the best version of sim city and although there are many good games on the SNES this has stuck out to me the most :D

edit: While this version is similar to the original sim city it does have a few extra 'fun' features with a few Nintendo references such as Bowser being included instead of Godzilla and when you reach a high population you get a mario statue. These along with the 'gifts' feature make this version stand out :D

Rating: 9/10

you forgot to metion the load of nintendo references in the game

e.g: bowzer instaed of god zilla and when you get a super high population you get a statue of Mario. also i don't think the original has gifts

I'm curious- what r your settinngs for it? Can it run well at 133 w/out sound? (My gp oc's to 166, but i like my batteries :) )

The Super NES version of SimCity was Super easy though. So, although it may be fun, its not very challanging. They "dumbed" it down for the console.

I remember leaving my SNES on with Sim City and going to school (way back then) and coming back being uber rich. The difficulty level was lowered alot. (Its still fun and a great classic!)

I suggest SimCity 2000 for SNES its much better :) I dont know how well it plays on the emus though.

the challange was getting a really high population. which was hard.
Not on the SNES version, you can get a Metropolis without even trying. It was way too easy. (Kinda like the original B&W Sim City). The full color Sim City for the PC, the one that SNES one is based off of, is about 10x more difficult and actually takes some skill to get a Metroplis.

I thought that the SNES version was great i used to just build a bunch of stuff and than cut off roads and cause natural disasters hoping that i could see the litte people and cars be destroyed
i guess im just not good at it tho cause i dont think i ever made metropolis
and i also do recal leaving the game on for long periods of time b4 i found out that you could just cheat the game for money lol :)

those where tha days

I can find no trace of this game any where on the internet. No infomation what so ever. Please help me;
P.S. My credit card problem is sorted out and I will have ordered a gp32 by tommorow!!!!!!!

I always remember a cheat I found to make the nuclear meltdown scenario easier.

as soon as you start, bulldose every nuclear powerplant and replace them with non-nuclear ones. If you destroy every one and then resume the game, you'll never get a meltdown.

SimCity 2000 for the SNES runs slow with the current osnes9x version
Sim City 2000 ran fairly slow on the original hardware, so don't expect it to ever be that great on GP32. I got my SNES back from my sisters loft recently and gave Sim City 2000 a go but found it much to slow. I really got into it years ago when I bought it, but now Super Sim City seems like a much more immediate and fun game.

One thing I remember about Sim City is that you can build a huge city fairly easily by not building any roads and just using rail tracks. It's expensive to begin with, but it pays back dividends in growth, although you do have to put up with "citizens demand more roads" messages.
